Commentary: A Conversation With A Liberal

From Anonymous.

Literally every conversation I’ve had with a Trump hater (“Hater”) about the upcoming election:

Hater: I can’t wait to get Donald Trump out of office.

Me: Why?

Hater: Why?!?! Don’t tell me you don’t think he colluded with Russia!

Me: According to Robert Mueller’s exhaustive, multi-million dollar investigation, there was no evidence of that. But there was evidence that the Obama administration spied on him and his campaign using the FBI.

Hater: Well, he said he’d repeal and replace Obamacare. What happened to that?

Me: Well, he removed the tax penalty which removes the mandate. Congress now just has to move with its replacement. He can’t do it by Executive Order. You do know Obama had very little to do with the writing of the Affordable Care Act, right?

Hater: Well, he said he’d build a wall and Mexico was gonna pay for it. Haha. What happened to that?

Me: They’ve built over 265 miles of new wall so far and he’s renegotiated NAFTA (now USMCA), costing Mexico billions of dollars that were given to them by Bill Clinton through the returning of jobs in America.

Hater: Well, that’s not them paying for it!

Me: BILLIONS. Did you think he literally meant Mexico was gonna write a check with “Wall” in the memo?

Hater: Well, he’s buddy buddy with [Russian President Vladimir] Putin and [North Korea Supreme Leader] Kim Jong-un.

Me: Getting along with your adversaries is not a bad thing. Or would you prefer he antagonize them? By the way, when was the last “test missile” North Korea sent Japan’s way?

Hater: Well, he doesn’t like the military! He called the dead soldiers “losers!”

Me: You’re referring to a report made from “anonymous sources” when over nine people who were with the President that have gone on record saying that it wasn’t true? That doesn’t send up any red flags for you? He’s brought our Veterans home and has taken great strides- and put a lot of money into fixing the Veterans Administration- ask any veteran you know. Funny way to treat people you think are “losers,” don’t you think?

Hater: Well, he got impeached for God’s sake!

Former Vice President Joe Biden admitting to arranging a quid pro quo while Vice President.

Me: Yes, impeached by a partisan House and subsequently acquitted as there was no evidence that the President did anything wrong (no quid pro quo) in his communication with the President of Ukraine. By the way, you did know that Joe Biden actually admitted on national television to doing that exact thing while he was in office as Vice President though, right?

Hater: Well he handled COVID horribly!

Me: What would’ve you done differently?

Hater: He didn’t close the borders in time!

Me: He announced travel restrictions on January 31, 2020 and was called xenophobic for doing so, all the while Nancy Pelosi and Bill DeBlasio were walking in Chinatown telling everyone to come on down, the water is fine.

Hater: Well, he refused to wear a mask.

Me: Here’s a picture of him wearing a mask.

Hater: Well, that was too far after!

Me: After what? He had two of his experts on national TV every day giving updates and telling everyone to wear a mask?

Hater: Well, he said everything will be fine and this will end!

Me: Did you want him to run around screaming that the sky was falling?

Hater: Well, listen to the way he talks! He’s nasty! He’s not how I want my President to sound.

Me: Ahhh. NOW we’re getting somewhere. You don’t like his personality. And everything you’ve mentioned up until now is because you don’t like his personality. So for you it seems personal and not about the job he’s done.

So listen, if you want a President who will tell you whatever you want to hear, flip- flopping on every issue, not getting anything done his entire time while in office, but who sounds like a nice guy (even though he seems seriously impaired), then Joe Biden is definitely your man.

Opinion: World Peace Is Being Suppressed By Big Tech

From Anonymous In Maryland.

When I was young, I was watching what happened in Kosovo on the news. Major metropolitan area with snipers on the roofs, people getting killed in the street. Then came the Gulf War, followed by Gulf War II. A conflict that lasted longer and has been more expensive than WWII. Each has a unique horror, both in terms of what happened and what has been done to prolong each conflict.

Peace has seemed so fleeting, and the solutions politicians have put in place seem to continue wars for reasons I can’t fathom.

At some level, we all remember these events even if we can’t recall the specifics. They were the defining conflicts for my generation and leave me with questions for the purpose of foreign policy; definitely different from the wingtips and briefcase diplomacy certain neo-liberals like to project.

President Trump received Kosovo’s highest award last week for bringing peace to the region. The week before that, Jared Kushner took the first direct flight from the United Arab Emirates to Israel and was not shot down by a surface-to-air missile. These are things worth celebrating; it’s deeply concerning that the media is not trumpeting these victories over chaos.

Both events are a triumph for civilization and result from an administration that’s not tied to a set of perverse incentives. If anything, they are the result of outsider politics and the Constitution working as designed for the benefit of all Americans and the world.

In January, we completed a sham impeachment where the President was accused of doing the exact things the Bidens did as detailed in this report. While I’d like to be optimistic, the odds of this report penetrating the public conscience are statistically irrelevant.

There’s a system in place, and it protects itself by saying reports like this are discredited conspiracy theories constructed by racist, sexist white nationalists who need to be thrown in jail.

Big tech companies will suppress it; the number of media mentions as of 6:00am were about 70 [Editor’s note: this piece was written on September 23, 2020]. By comparison, LeBron James and Michael Bloomberg had over 2,700 mentions for paying fines for Florida felons so they could vote.

Opinion: Biden Endorsed Darkness At DNC

From A Concerned Citizen In Maryland.

I found it very interesting that Joe Biden referred to the comparison of “dark and light” during his acceptance speech at the Democratic National Convention (DNC). This is not a new comparison. This phrase has been used metaphorically since the beginning of time to convey deep spiritual truths. Over 2,000 years ago, Jesus used the same analogy. Both political parties claim to be the light while accusing the other to be the dark; Biden was using the phrase to compare the alleged actions and personality of President Trump to a dark place in our history.

Often, one side will equate capitalism as self-interest and refer to it as the side without light. I believe those who wrote Joe’s speech had this in mind. His speech writers were in fact endorsing Marxism and collective interest. Sadly, most Americans did not understand the comparison.

Jesus in the gospel of John Chapter 8 Vs 12 said, “Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness but will have the light of life.”

“If we say we have fellowship with him while we walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth. But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin.”

1 John 1:6-7

Throughout the Bible we see references to light and darkness. It also teaches the concept of truthfulness. Ultimately, Jesus said, “I tell you the truth and I am the truth.” He knew 2,000 years ago the world was a dark place full of untruthfulness.

Sadly, I don’t believe Joe Biden fully understood what he was saying or the history behind the phrase he used. I don’t intend this to be a bible lesson, but I do seek guidance from God’s word. The bible equates darkness with untruthfulness, murder (abortion/killing and taking of life), corruption, greed, lust for power and possessions, hatefulness towards one’s neighbor, and failure to give God the recognition He is due, among other attributes. The opposite, light, would suggest mankind’s love and respect for one another, a value of life as the creation of God, honesty and integrity, contentment as apposed to lust, the recognition of God as the creator of all things, and the worship of Him above all other things.

So, one must ask why didn’t Joe Biden, in his acceptance speech, refer to or condemn the darkness and violence taking place in the world and in America today?

Why couldn’t he condemn Antifa or the bigotry, violence, and racism of black lives matter (BLM)? Why couldn’t he condemn anarchy in the streets, murder and violence, lies, and corruption at the highest levels of government?

One must assume one of three conclusions:

  1. Joe Biden doesn’t understand darkness;
  2. Joe Biden is a part of the darkness; or
  3. Joe Biden is being told by dark forces what to say relative to darkness.

It is you, the reader, who must decide which side you are on. You must decide what defines dark and light. You must decide what is good and what is evil. You must decide what is right and wrong. Sadly, the world has lost its moral compass. We have set aside God’s guidelines and adopted our own moral code. As for me, I choose to set my moral compass and determine dark and light according to God’s word as recorded in scripture.

And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness.
