Commentary: Modern Man Still Believes In The Big Lie

Anonymous Pastor lives in Maryland.

What is truth?

In today’s political climate it is difficult to find the truth. I personally have stopped watching the news because it can not be trusted. I am distrusting of all of our institutions because of their blatant disregard for the rule of law. I do not trust politicians because of their history of regularly telling lies, spinning the truth, and manipulating facts to promote their narrative. Sadly, some pastors live outside the boundaries of truth and honesty.

We are regularly bombarded with untrue stories of Russian collusion, false and/or inaccurate polls, inflated virus statistics, and fake impeachment charges. Currently we are in the midst of the largest conspiracy of voter fraud known to Americans.

The idea of finding any truth or meaning to life has escaped modern man. This statement reflects the inability to conceive of something outside of one’s self. Even though we live in a day in which we all have definite beliefs about things, the climate seems to be the act of belief rather than any real object of belief.

Belief will not create fact. Truth is independent of belief. No matter how hard I may try, believing something will not make it true.

People today are believing whatever they wish to believe, but this will lead to their ultimate destruction.

One of the darkest periods in the history of Israel occurred in the time of the kings. During this time, there was a contest between the Lord God and Baal, a highly regarded cult deity. An altar of wood was built, with pieces of an oxen laid upon it as a sacrifice. The god who answered by fire and consumed the sacrifice would be acknowledged as the true god in Israel. Baal went first. If anyone could start a fire from the sky, it was Baal—the great nature god who controlled the weather (e.g., rain, thunderstorms, lightning).

Elijah and the Priests of Baal by Lucas Cranach the Younger, ca. 1545. With characteristic flamboyance, Cranach illustrates the futility of long repetitious prayers in the famous story from 1 Kings 18.

The priests of Baal paraded around the altar all morning and until late afternoon, beseeching Baal to respond. These false priests jumped all over the altar, cut themselves with swords, danced into a frenzy, raved, and pleaded all day. Yet nothing happened. No one can say they were not sincere or did not believe. After they were finished and the altar was rebuilt, the Lord God answered with fire from heaven and consumed the altar and sacrifice. The false prophets of Baal were then slain.

Today we see Democratic politicians, Hollywood celebrities, news broadcasters, media corporations, and the liberal left coming unhinged defending their beliefs even though they are untrue.

Perhaps we who embrace the truth, should remain patient and allow God to consume their alter of corruption and restore truth to its rightful place of dignity and honor. Repeatedly, when Jesus was on earth, he used the phrase “I tell you the truth.” He also called himself the truth. He knew Mankind has difficulty telling and believing the truth. He was giving us a source of ultimate, unbiased absolute truth

Looking for a Conservative School? Rocca Prep is Accepting Students for Fall 2021

Dear Parents,

Are you worried about teachers using your children as pawns to further their irrational and hateful progressive agenda?

Do your children’s teachers tell their students that there are infinite genders; that all white people are inherently racist; and that immutable characteristics are more important than hard work?

You know it, and I know it. False narratives, ideological propaganda, critical race theory, and countless other failures have taken over schools, and our children deserve much better.
Everton Rocca, Founder and Headmaster of Rocca Preparatory School

As a full-tuition merit scholar at Stanford University, where I earned my Master of Arts in Education, Multiple Subject Teaching Credential (K – 6), and Additional Authorization in Literature (K – postgrad), I saw firsthand how many schools have become little more than indoctrination centers.

From preschool to university, most institutions now teach students what to think rather than how to think. I’m trying to change that in the best way I know how: by opening my own private school, specifically designed for conservative families.

Opening in the fall of 2021, Rocca Preparatory School will be located in Northwest DC and will serve the surrounding metro area, including Montgomery County.

My mission is to help reform our society so that it once again values truth, logic, and the free exchange of ideas. To do that, I feel called to urgently prepare the next generation of great thinkers.

Rocca Prep’s website (www.roccaprepschool.com) is officially live, and I’m scheduling initial phone calls with interested families.

If you are seeking a school for your child that honors critical thinking and stands against social justice indoctrination, please reach out today.

Opinion: Why You Should Vote YES to Questions B & D and NO to Questions A & C

Anonymous lives in Montgomery County, Maryland.

A David vs. Goliath battle is being waged in Montgomery County over the structure of the County Council.  On one side is a non-partisan citizens’ ballot committee that collected over 16,000 signatures during the COVID-19 lock down to get Question D on the ballot. It would change the structure to nine individual districts.  On the other side, is the powerful County Council, which at the last minute on the last day of summer session, suspended its public comment rules to put a competing Question C on the ballot to confuse voters.

If both measures win, both fail; it doesn’t matter how many votes each gets.  Then it’s back to the status quo, which is the real goal of the County Council.

Currently, seven of the nine County Council members live around the down-county crescent near Silver Spring and Takoma Park, home to the most liberal, progressive, densely populated, and wealthiest part of the County.  This is not a fluke, it has been going on for the past three decades. How does that happen?

Montgomery is a “one-party rule” county.

Four of the nine Council positions are elected At-Large. “At-Large” is false advertising.  Instead of representing all county residents, the At-Large representatives have demonstrated repeatedly their priorities are those of their neighbors living in Silver Spring and Takoma Park.

The structure is broken. It allows the Council to have a majority of members from the same southeastern corner of the county. Studies have shown that At-Large seats discriminate against women and minority candidates.

Not one elected official in Montgomery County, county or state, is registered Republican or any other party other than Democrat.  Sadly, it has also turned into a pay-for-play county.  The County gives grants to a long list of non-profit organizations, that in turn exhort its members to vote for the people who will continue to give them taxpayer money.

MCEA is the union representing teachers in Montgomery County, MD. They also issue the Apple Ballot.

The unions are in on the game and they have a big influence on the county’s unionized employees (i.e. teachers, police, fire, transportation, and other workers).  The teachers’ union even publishes an “Apple Ballot,” exclusively advocating for Democrats, handed out at the polls.  Last year, the County Executive negotiated some of the largest raises in the area for union employees, only to find this year there is not enough money to pay them, thanks to the COVID-19 induced shut-downs.

What to do?  Raise property taxes, of course!

When families are struggling to make ends meet.
When schools are closed or partially opened and parents and students are both working from home.
When businesses are falling like dominoes.

The beauty of property taxes, from the cynical left’s point of view, is that if they aren’t paid, homes will be seized by the government.

Pay up or we’ll take your home away and sell it to someone else.

Property owners bear the burden of paying taxes for services used by everyone, so it’s not fair to raise taxes just on them.  But, for the progressive leftists on the County Council, it’s the path of least resistance.

Interestingly, one Republican saw this coming.  Robin Ficker, who Democrat detractors (and even some high-minded Republicans) label a political gadfly, got enough signatures to place another measure on the ballot—Question B—to limit the amount of any property tax increase to the rate of inflation.  What to do?  Put a competing measure on the ballot—Question A—authored by the County Council.  Even if both of these measures win, canceling each other out, the status quo is better than either of them.

The County Charter currently allows property taxes to be raised above the rate of inflation only by unanimous vote of the county Council. Easy enough, since 95 percent of all Council votes this term have been unanimous.

Democrats have pulled out all stops to fight Questions B and D, including enlisting former County officials Ike Leggitt, David Blair, and Connie Morella.

Marilyn Balcombe (image credit: Montgomery Community Media)

Marilyn Balcombe, a Democrat who lost her bid for At-Large Council member in the last election, is running competing ballot committees to defeat B & D.  She’s already on record saying she plans to run for At-Large again, so she has a vested interest in making sure voters don’t approve nine individual districts.  Adam Pagnucco, former Council staffer and blogger for Seventh State, has repeatedly and erroneously tried to scare his readers by painting both citizen ballot initiatives as Republican efforts.

Increased taxes won’t really hurt the lifestyle of the wealthy.

“I don’t mind paying higher taxes, I’m sure they’ll be put to good use.”

A well-dressed woman leaving a high-end restaurant recently exclaimed this to me.

Compare that to the worried look in a naturalized citizen’s eyes, standing at the door of his modest townhouse, who says he is telling his friends to look at issues, not just party, when voting this year. “It’s not fair to make property owners bear the burden of services used by everyone,” he said.

The people hurt the most by the well-intentioned liberal elite are the people they claim to want to help the most.

Please vote FOR Questions B and D and AGAINST Questions A and C.

Ohneiser: Being Educated Means Actually Paying Attention

Bob Ohneiser, Esq., lives in Loudoun County, Virginia.

Over my eight years representing the Broadrun District on the Loudoun County School Board there were many issues to learn about and participate in resolving. As a practicing lawyer with three children in LCPS [Loudoun County Public Schools] I felt the pressure to deeply understand issues before voting.

What I unfortunately learned over that time and have seen even more dramatically since then is how little school board members pay attention to details and logic.

It seems more like a positive head shaking contest whenever the Superintendent speaks instead of performing a check and balance function as required under state law.

Here are some examples which readers can consider:

  1. Statute 22.1-79 specifically mandates school boards operate under an utmost efficient manner, yet the current school board hasn’t even asked what is not being spent currently as most of the schools have been closed for seven months.
  2. With the power of criminal enforcement LCPS can mandate parents to bring their children into the school system for universal, “almost free” education, yet they don’t think twice about the conflict caused by expelling a student or charging $100.00/student per sport students choose to participate in.
  3. Parents are considered crucial in supporting school budget approvals, yet the system stubbornly refuses to allow parents to have meaningful input into staff performance considerations.
  4. Knowing all property owners in the County pay to support the school system the school board still acts as if they are the union representatives for the staff, as services which could be easily provided at no extra cost to home schoolers are denied.
  5. Almost all school board members “talk” about how terrible it would be if bullying was occurring, yet they refuse to ask the Superintendent for a report showing evidence of such bullying, including what was done to mitigate it.
  6. Then there is the real estate development quagmire. School Board members know of the turmoil school boundary changes cause yet they refuse to demand all schools within the catchment area for attending the new school be reviewed for expansion prior to the hearings.

Does the real estate development community own everyone in this county?

Help! I’m A Closet Conservative Teacher: Whites Need Not Apply (Part III)

From a conservative teacher in the Montgomery County, Maryland Public School (MCPS) System.

Conservatism, Education, and Montgomery County Public Schools is a combination that is not welcome. I have seen it firsthand. My hope is through a series of articles, I can share my experiences as a conservative teacher within the MCPS system. I look forward to shedding some light on what is happening within our public school system.

“This is a safe space, right?”

This is what was said by one of my fellow teachers during an interview our school recently conducted.

She proceeded to explain why she felt one particular candidate was not a strong candidate.

No, it was not that this candidate was inexperienced. Her resume showed years of experience in the education field.

No, it was not that this candidate spoke of any educational theory or practice that conflicted with our school’s mission.

No, it was not that this candidate lacked the confidence her role would need in order to interact with our school community.

It was that she was white.

I have sat on several interview panels throughout my teaching career. The typical structure of the interview involves the panel identifying strengths and weaknesses of each candidate immediately after the interview.

“This is a safe space, right?”

Of course, our principal replied that we were in a safe space, allowing the teacher to explain to the panel that her whiteness was a weakness. That, despite the fact that this candidate’s way of life was almost identical to the teacher, she was still weak. You see, the candidate is married to a black man and is the mother of biracial children. The candidate even took the time to explain that she felt her family diversity was a strength of hers. The teacher who brought up this “weakness” also happens to be a white woman who was previously married to a black man and has biracial children.

And, if what she was stating is indeed a weakness, should this teacher even be teaching our children?

If I was shocked by her statement, I cannot remember. What I do remember is becoming irritated by how the rest of the debrief unfolded. My principal, along with others in the panel, praised the teacher for her courage.

At the end of it all, the majority of the panel chose a different candidate. The job was offered to a candidate who maybe did not have as much experience, and may have not had the strongest interview. The job instead was offered to a candidate who was unburdened by the same “weakness” as the other candidate.

“This is a safe space, right?”

Chinese Immigrant: Leftism Is The Real Virus & It’s Spreading In Montgomery County, MD (Video Testimony #1)

From The Editor: Below is a video produced by Act 4 Greater America. Our combined goal is to bring awareness to the dangers of Leftism (under the guise of the current Democrat Party) and how policies endorsed and enacted by county governments, especially in Montgomery County, are socialist in nature and detrimental to the success of our country and our citizenry.

Christianity, Constitution, and Capitalism.

Paraphrased excerpts below (unless quoted):

The combination of the three C’s mentioned above makes the greatness of America, and we must defend these values. China is trying to destroy these core values.

Like the human body, a nation can also succumb to a virus. In this case, the virus of ideology is even more dangerous and can cause even greater destruction. The virus of ideology is leftism/marxism/socialism/communism (however you want to call it, it is the same thing), and it has left a trail of destruction.

“America is next if we do not defend our core values.”

Institutions have been infiltrated by this ideology and young people are being indoctrinated by those same people in positions of authority. Handouts and government dependency are going to ruin the economic might of the country. Abortion-on-demand is forcing our faith in God out of our culture; Christians are being persecuted for their faith. Removing prayer from public school and replacing it with questionable material (LGBT++) in its place is also part of that effort to eradicate religion.

The Democrats use word control to control people’s thoughts by using labels and throwing them onto anyone who disagrees with you. It’s exactly what the Communist party used in China.

It wasn’t until 2016 that enough people fed up with these laws against freedom and the P.C. Culture woke up and said, “We’ve got to fight back.” President Donald Trump has kept his promises; he has lowered taxes, reduced government regulation, appointed judges who adhered to the Constitution, and surrounded himself by people of prayer.

When the Democrats couldn’t derail President Trump with their hoaxes and fake news, they adhered to the same playbook of using class and racial strife, and created a lot of chaos. You don’t have to go far outside of the U.S.A. to see what these tactics have caused. American cities, such as Chicago, Minneapolis, and Portland, have turned into ruins because of the failed policies of the Democrats in power.

You must vote for Donald Trump in this election; it is that serious.

The MoCo Conservative Podcast Episode 1: Nine Districts for MoCo

The MoCo Conservative talks Question D and what you need to know to make an informed decision come election time. Featuring John A. of Clarksburg as a guest caller.

Topic of the Day

Nine Districts for MoCo:

  1. What you need to know.
  2. What you don’t know.
  3. What you must do to get represented equitably and fairly.

Special guest: John A. from Clarksburg, Maryland.

Recorded October 13, 2020.

Apply For The MoCo Redistricting Commission (Deadline: October 26)

From Anonymous.

Montgomery County is a one-party county.  The County Executive, County Council, and Senators and Delegates to the General Assembly are all registered Democrats. Not one single Republican or any other party member among them!

Consequently, there is no diversity of thought, the economy and educational system are in trouble, and many people feel disenfranchised.

Part of the reason for this lopsided picture is the fact that Council and Delegate districts are so gerrymandered in Maryland in general, particularly in Montgomery County.

There are a couple of ways this can be remedied:

  1. First, by changing the structure of the County Council to nine individual districts (Vote YES to Question D and NO to Question C).
  2. Second, by ensuring that district lines are drawn fairly, no matter what the Council structure ends up being.  District lines are updated once every 10 years, based on the latest census figures, and will begin in 2021.

October 26th is the deadline for applying to be on the Redistricting Commission, which will start work in February. Below is the county press release which describes the role of the Redistricting Commission and the application procedures.

Don’t just complain about how things are run in the county.  Do something about it.  Apply and help ensure that everyone is represented fairly!

Response To MoCo Council Member Hucker: Why Do You Want More Police Deaths?

From A Former Law Enforcement Officer in Montgomery County, Maryland.

Now-deleted Tweet from Montgomery County, MD Council Member Tom Hucker

Tom,

I hope you really did not tweet that there should be “justice” for the family of Berhe? If you did, shame on you.

The call went out as a burglary in progress and the subject was armed with a knife. How the heck is a social worker supposed to handle that? Even if the call was merely a mentally ill person brandishing a knife, no mobile crisis team, psychologist, or psychiatrist would dare go near the scene until it was rendered safe and secure.

Even on those mental health calls where there is a potential for violence and the Mobile Crisis Team is responding, they will have the officers there as back ups. They cannot confront violent and armed people in a non-controlled environment.

Officers must live with their split second decisions. They have to decide in mere fractions of a second how to react to a deadly threat. That difference means the ability to go home in one piece to your family or suffer life changing injuries or death. Likewise, failure of the officer to take action with an armed, emotionally disturbed individual creates a danger to the community members as well.

I personally know this officer, as well as others who have had to use deadly force to protect themselves and the community. Several never recovered from the trauma of taking a human life and had to leave the department. Universally, those officers are forever changed. I have never met a police officer yet that thought, “Tonight I am going to kill someone.” In fact, the opposite is true.

I have seen my share, me included, of those who did some dangerous and stupid things to avoid shooting someone despite the deadly threat. But, when that trigger is pulled and it is a justifiable shooting, the community should be there to support the officer, not to second guess them. That includes the elected officials that have an obligation to know the facts and circumstances and educate themselves on the realities of police use of force.

Having the council members not recognize that the actions of the officer are also predicated on the actions of the assailant and shift blame to the system, the officer, training, or lack of a 24/7, fully staffed crisis team does a disservice to every officer out there. It is unrealistic and just plain foolish to believe that mental health professionals will be the panacea to fix the problem.

The problem with dealing with the mentally ill goes far beyond community crisis team response. Our mental health system has been insurance driven for 40 years. We went from almost 4,000 beds at Springfield State Hospital to less than 300. Hospitalization is a joke. They stabilize them and kick them out because that is all insurance carriers will pay for. I could speak for hours regarding the mental health systems in place or lacking. I will leave that to a later discussion.

The fact is out of the nearly 1 million law enforcement officers serving today and the millions of contacts and arrests made, the numbers of people shot by officers every year has remained constant for decades or decreased despite huge increases in population. The Montgomery County Police Department provides some of the best training in Crisis Intervention. I was one of the first to go through the training. Now, all MCPD officers must complete the 40 hour course in crisis intervention.

In this case, honestly tell me that if a knife wielding individual attacked you and you were a police officer that you would not protect yourself. Tell me you would take one for the team and hope your family could do without you. If you say you would not have fired, I challenge you to do some shoot don’t shoot scenarios. Many people change their opinion after experiencing that training. And, that is still make believe where they know they are not going to get hurt.

From One Conservative To Another: Grow A Pair And Speak Up Already

From An Anonymous Business Executive In Virginia.

FACT: Throughout American politics and mainstream media today, corruption runs rampant.

We the people know it, we complain to each other about it, and yet we do nothing. By doing nothing we are part of the problem.

The few that attempt to stand up and do the right thing often get publicly smeared, slandered, and straight up filleted for everyone to see… yes, these few are completely and utterly destroyed.

An example is made of these people who dare to do the right thing, so nobody else will dare try it again. All of this is WRONG!

There are a handful of politicians, like Trey Gowdy, who came in believing in justice and tried to make a difference. He fought with conviction, passion, and always told the truth. Pay attention: Gowdy voluntarily left his seat in the House (which included the role of Chair of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee’s Select Committee on Benghazi) because he, like many of the good ones before him, became disheartened over the ugly truth. Watching Hillary Clinton go unpunished for her direct involvement in the Benghazi Scandal and blatantly lying to the American people and families of the slain… it all became too much.

I look around our Country today and everything is unrecognizable.

We must continue to support young agents of change like Candace Owens.

Full Congressional Testimony of Candace Owens During House Hearing on Hate Crimes and the Rise of White Nationalism.

This woman gets it and no matter what some do in an effort to hurt, scare, and/or intimidate her, Candace comes back swinging, relying only on facts and data.

Never be afraid to stand up and tell the truth… regardless of the consequences.

Who knew there would be consequences for being honest? In any event, the corrupt people who sit in positions of power will one day answer for their crimes. No question about it. They might not answer to you or me but I promise you they understand they’ll be faced with a true day of reckoning, and there is no amount of money that will be able to buy them out of the mess they helped to create.

President Donald J. Trump and Vice President Mike Pence may not be perfect, but they have both been honest and have done their best to do right by the American People. The biggest and only failure I’ve witnessed over the last four years is the utter and complete downfall of American Journalism. The horrific behavior of Mainstream Media toward our President, and quite frankly the gross abuse of their “special privileges,” is horrible to watch.

People like House Speaker Nancy Pelosi need to be removed from office and criminally charged for the fraud, waste, and abuse of American tax dollars. That woman has spent MILLIONS solely on trying to hurt The President of the United States… last I checked, isn’t that considered treason?

I am supporting the Trump/Pence ticket (exactly as I did last election) because in this election they truly are the only choice.

Commentary: A Conversation With A Liberal

From Anonymous.

Literally every conversation I’ve had with a Trump hater (“Hater”) about the upcoming election:

Hater: I can’t wait to get Donald Trump out of office.

Me: Why?

Hater: Why?!?! Don’t tell me you don’t think he colluded with Russia!

Me: According to Robert Mueller’s exhaustive, multi-million dollar investigation, there was no evidence of that. But there was evidence that the Obama administration spied on him and his campaign using the FBI.

Hater: Well, he said he’d repeal and replace Obamacare. What happened to that?

Me: Well, he removed the tax penalty which removes the mandate. Congress now just has to move with its replacement. He can’t do it by Executive Order. You do know Obama had very little to do with the writing of the Affordable Care Act, right?

Hater: Well, he said he’d build a wall and Mexico was gonna pay for it. Haha. What happened to that?

Me: They’ve built over 265 miles of new wall so far and he’s renegotiated NAFTA (now USMCA), costing Mexico billions of dollars that were given to them by Bill Clinton through the returning of jobs in America.

Hater: Well, that’s not them paying for it!

Me: BILLIONS. Did you think he literally meant Mexico was gonna write a check with “Wall” in the memo?

Hater: Well, he’s buddy buddy with [Russian President Vladimir] Putin and [North Korea Supreme Leader] Kim Jong-un.

Me: Getting along with your adversaries is not a bad thing. Or would you prefer he antagonize them? By the way, when was the last “test missile” North Korea sent Japan’s way?

Hater: Well, he doesn’t like the military! He called the dead soldiers “losers!”

Me: You’re referring to a report made from “anonymous sources” when over nine people who were with the President that have gone on record saying that it wasn’t true? That doesn’t send up any red flags for you? He’s brought our Veterans home and has taken great strides- and put a lot of money into fixing the Veterans Administration- ask any veteran you know. Funny way to treat people you think are “losers,” don’t you think?

Hater: Well, he got impeached for God’s sake!

Former Vice President Joe Biden admitting to arranging a quid pro quo while Vice President.

Me: Yes, impeached by a partisan House and subsequently acquitted as there was no evidence that the President did anything wrong (no quid pro quo) in his communication with the President of Ukraine. By the way, you did know that Joe Biden actually admitted on national television to doing that exact thing while he was in office as Vice President though, right?

Hater: Well he handled COVID horribly!

Me: What would’ve you done differently?

Hater: He didn’t close the borders in time!

Me: He announced travel restrictions on January 31, 2020 and was called xenophobic for doing so, all the while Nancy Pelosi and Bill DeBlasio were walking in Chinatown telling everyone to come on down, the water is fine.

Hater: Well, he refused to wear a mask.

Me: Here’s a picture of him wearing a mask.

Hater: Well, that was too far after!

Me: After what? He had two of his experts on national TV every day giving updates and telling everyone to wear a mask?

Hater: Well, he said everything will be fine and this will end!

Me: Did you want him to run around screaming that the sky was falling?

Hater: Well, listen to the way he talks! He’s nasty! He’s not how I want my President to sound.

Me: Ahhh. NOW we’re getting somewhere. You don’t like his personality. And everything you’ve mentioned up until now is because you don’t like his personality. So for you it seems personal and not about the job he’s done.

So listen, if you want a President who will tell you whatever you want to hear, flip- flopping on every issue, not getting anything done his entire time while in office, but who sounds like a nice guy (even though he seems seriously impaired), then Joe Biden is definitely your man.

Response To MCPS High School Principal: Your Curriculum Is Racist (My Son Is Not)

From A Concerned Mother In Montgomery County, Maryland To A Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) High School.

Dear Principal X,

The mandatory re-education this morning in homeroom is appalling. Your school has been very good about telling my sons what racists they are by virtue of being white.  I have not complained for these many years because I know that the people who believe this are hateful and vindictive people.  They would baselessly brand me a racist and make my children suffer significant consequences.

Slide used by high school teachers in the MCPS system.

My husband and I supported the candidacy of Dr. Ben Carson, a national hero.  Dr. Carson disagrees with the stance of BLM, et al.  We follow Dr. Carson’s lead. He is black and grew up super poor in a very poor, inner city neighborhood.  He taught us about the soft racism of low expectations; we will not participate in that because we believe in the ability of black people to make it just like we believe in the ability of any other person to make it in a free country under a system of free enterprise.

Slide used by high school teachers in the MCPS system.

We believe those to who think otherwise are racists who cause significant harm to our country, to the cause of true equality, to our communities, and to the black community, in particular.

Slide used by high school teachers in the MCPS system.
Slide used by high school teachers in the MCPS system.

I read that we will have to prove our son has had his “lesson” if he does not attend this morning’s atrocious lecture.  Please understand, you have spent nearly four years now teaching my son how hateful a human being he is, just by the virtue of his skin.  His textbooks contained it, his reading assignments were on almost nothing but this topic; you never taught him the other argument or about wonderful men like Dr. Carson, and X understands, viscerally, how much he is hated because of the color of his skin.  So do we.  That’s enough.

Slide used by high school teachers in the MCPS system.

If you want to force my child into proving to you that he has adopted the DNC platform, heart and soul, we will take it public and ask the court to rule on it.

Sincerely,

A Concerned Mother

Reviewing The Three “R’s”: Racism, Rage & Revival

From Anonymous In Montgomery County, Maryland.

Many people – regardless of political affiliation – fail to fully understand that the seeds planted by the Leftists over several decades have begun to bear fruit in the United States of America.

Racial division is not something that just happened. It has been cultivated from one generation to the next.

As a result, there are people who look at every problem through a racial lens. This lens distorts the truth. I’m afraid our society will collapse if we don’t find a way to communicate openly about difficult issues without jumping to personal attacks.

That’s why we have President Donald J. Trump, my friends. His constant disruption is a beautiful thing in my eyes. You may not see it now, but you will. Prepare yourselves for a difficult year ahead.

All HELL is going to be unleashed when President Trump is re-elected. People may be driven to the brink of insanity.

I actually feel a bit insane suggesting it, but I think it’s the only way people will be driven to a point where they have to ask, WHY…and actually seek the truthful. This is a God-thing, my friends. Many have prepared for a revival in our nation.

A revival comes in the midst of hardship and turmoil…when people are forced to seek the face of God. I believe we may be approaching that point.

Opinion: COVID-19 Forced Me To Accept Public Education’s Tremendous Failures

From An Anonymous Educator In Virginia.

On the “upside” of COVID-19…

After six weeks or so of anguishing over my son’s decision to attend a private school to complete his senior year of high school, I have come to realize there is finally something positive from COVID-19.  Having had an excellent public education, I actually thought my children would have the same.  COVID-19 finally made me accept just how badly the public school system is failing U.S. students and most educators.

After years of hating school, my spectrum son began to find his niche in secondary school.  While not a social kid, he loved all of his high school teachers, especially his language and theatre teachers.  Beginning in eighth grade, my son would only teasingly joke about not wanting to attend school in the morning, but would come home happy with funny stories to share at the dinner table.  I thought:

“Well, maybe the public education system cannot be too bad if my son is happy.”

What I used to think.

Between subbing for 11 years in my son’s school district and the appearance of COVID-19, I had to finally accept the reality:

Public education is a tremendous failure.

While there are many gifted educators, the curriculum is purely politically motivated and created to “dummy down” the students who do not have the motivation to succeed on their own.

Common core mathematics not only encourages failure but deters students from pursuing STEM degrees.  Even accomplished mathematicians and nuclear physicists have admitted if they were in school today they would hate math.  Children do not read classic or historical literature; they read books that explain their feelings, gender identities, and racial perplexities that only confuse them and encourage divisiveness (but that is a post for another time).  Computers and calculators are the norm in public classrooms to insure students are adept at taking on line standardized testing.  Beginning in first grade, three letters students and teachers alike hate, “SOL’s” (Standards of Learning).

Forget about actually learning, it is all about teaching to the test.  Students are not pushed to work the most important muscle of the human body for creating, researching, and communicating – the brain.

Thank you to the Chinese Communist Party for COVID-19, as I finally accepted the reality of the failing U.S. public education system.  My son chose in August to transfer to a private school providing in-person classes.  As we discussed the curriculum, I knew if my son chose to pursue his full potential he would do amazingly well in the private school he chose to attend.  He had to admit the school seemed to offer him more academically than his public secondary school.  A tremendous choice for a boy who does not like transitions or school work.

No computers, no calculators, no cell phones, no multiple choice tests, no cursing, uniforms for all, manners a must, and the worst of all, only respectful dialogue allowed!  In other words, be open to different opinions without verbally attacking another student and instead present facts why you disagree.  Classical education that teaches all aspects of history; history that parallels the literature students read and write about in class. Yes, they actually write their answers (which must be neat and legible).  Grammar, punctuation, and spelling are also graded, which is almost unheard of in our public school system.  In public schools there is a grading rubric for just about everything.  If spelling, grammar, and punctuation are not listed on that rubric, then a teacher may not grade on those concepts. Gosh forbid you offend anyone who does not have the desire to learn proper grammar skills.  As someone who has lived overseas, I can tell you firsthand their school systems do not dummy down their language arts or any part of the curriculum for anyone.

Granted, class sizes are much smaller than in Fairfax County Public Schools.  Instead of 25 to 30 students in tight spaces, my son’s new school has class sizes of 5 to 10.  The private school has kept the in-person sizes small to meet social distancing requirements.  The school also has students who are virtually attending the classes as some live overseas or local families were not ready for their children to return to “brick and mortar.”  The smaller class sizes truly do make a tremendously positive difference for teaching and learning.

Another bonus for private school educators: there are consequences for disruptive students.  Not only may the disruptive child be immediately sent to the headmaster, if the bad behavior is not corrected the parents are called to retrieve their child. Teachers instruct and students learn without the constant disruptive behavior.

Unlike public schools, private school parents actually have to take responsibility for their children’s poor behavior.

There was a time when this was the same expectation in public schools but no more.  Parents threaten to sue if a teacher hurts a student’s feelings:

“How dare you expect my child to be quiet during class.  The audacity!”

Imagine what could be accomplished in the public schools with:

  1. smaller class sizes;
  2. classical education instead of ideological indoctrination; and
  3. creative, critical and cognitive curriculum for all students.

Not to mention behavioral expectations that parents must reinforce at home. Instead, politicians, academia, and unions use the public schools as their personal platforms to encourage divisiveness among the masses while promoting ideological agendas.  They do not care about what is best for students or educators, only what will insure their power and influence.  Sadly, most public school teachers fall for the ideological agendas or fear for their jobs if they rebel instead of standing up to those who continually dummy down public school curriculum.

The answers are easy for change: replace the Prussian education model controlled by power-driven ideologues with a system that promotes open and respectful discourse; cognitive, critical and creative thinking; all history (ancient and modern); and common sense mathematics.

While the failures of the U.S. public education system have been obvious for decades, thanks to COVID-19, I accept fault for not sooner accepting the truth.

Response To MoCo Politicos: It’s Not “Free” If Taxpayers Pay For It

Gail Weiss lives in Montgomery County, Maryland.

To Whom It May (or who I hope will be) Concerned:

Please let me be clear – I do not have a blanket opposition to the county government providing goods or services to those who need it without the recipient being required to pay an additional fee for its receipt.  However, I continue to be increasingly offended every time I see a government communication proclaiming ‘they’ are giving “FREE” this or that, as the county notice attached below does.

Government cannot give anything for FREE.  You are providing something that TAXPAYERS HAVE FUNDED VIA OUR TAXES.  So please stop diminishing what MoCo taxpayers contribute while you – the county government – acts like Santa Claus on OUR dime.

The lack of transparency of the cost of “FREE” stuff in Montgomery County government is bad enough, as this blog post discusses:

Unlike out-of-pocket costs paid by hospital patients, MoCo’s testing costs don’t directly hit the wallets of those being tested. But they do hit residents’ wallets through their tax bills. On top of that, possible litigation with AdvaGenix looms. The fact that MoCo taxpayers do not know how their tax dollars are being spent is highly problematic. And that is the case because their county government wants it that way.”

Seventh State Blog

Do you not want to remind taxpayers how and where you are spending our money?  Or is it that you want the “credit” for being so generous (with our money)? Or is it both?

If you may or may not be ripping off taxpayers without disclosing it, AT LEAST GIVE US CREDIT FOR FUNDING IT, whatever it is you are giving away with possibly foolish contracts you are entering into on our behalf. Henceforth, I hope in place of “FREE” we will see “TAXPAYER FUNDED.” It is much more accurate and much more honest.

I often hear “words matter” and if that is the case then let’s see it.  Please stop disrespecting the taxpayers and please correct the lack of precision and accuracy of county government communications and STOP saying ANYTHING is “FREE” when it in reality has been PAID FOR by taxpayers or, on occasion, with the help of other private stakeholders.

That is the sole request here. This is not rocket science.  But if this is beyond the capabilities of any of the current county government elected officials to fix this, then voters should bear that in mind in two years.

Voters should expect a higher level of communication from our county government-elected office holders, as well as from the county government employees who execute their will.  And we need a county government structure that allows us to know much more clearly exactly WHO to hold accountable when there is a lack of performance.

I am viewing this – replacing “Free” with “Taxpayer Funded” in official government communications –  as a tiny test that has now been brought to the attention of the entire Council –  and it has also been shared with a few fellow-MoCo voters too, to raise their awareness. This test will be graded Pass / Fail. We will all benefit together if you earn a Passing grade.

Candidate To Watch: Chris Anderson (Baltimore City Council District 7)

Chris Anderson is a U.S. Coast Guard veteran, chaplain, and lifelong Baltimorean. He is running to represent District 7 on Baltimore’s City Council.

My grandfather, Christopher Bland, had an eatery on Riggs Avenue & Carey Street in Baltimore’s 7th District. Bland’s Carryout was a family business that helped the community, as well as fed it. I used to play in front of Carryout as a child.  Now that store is gone. A child can’t play in front of that building anymore. There are memorials in front of that store now where people have been shot and have died from street violence.

Photograph credit: Chris Anderson

Now, in 2020, I’m one of nine Republican, African American candidates running for office in Baltimore; I’m running in the 7th district.

I do not want to see another street memorial in front of my grandfather’s store. I want children to be able to play there again.  I want that community to heal. Some say I’m too serious about this race and am angry.  Others associate my party and me with the “Grand Old Party” (GOP) of 1967 and say we don’t have a chance.

I am very angry and I am very serious about the conditions of District 7, but I’m not the return of the GOP to the city. I’m part of the “Grand New Party” that’s frustrated, mad and angry (yes!) about how far this city has fallen.

I feel the pain of Michelle Andrews running in District 6.

I’m just as frustrated as Jovani Patterson, nominee for City Council President.

I’m just as mad as the first African-born nominee, Eugene Boikai, running in District 12.

These are just some of the Republicans that are running for office frustrated by the conditions and deterioration of Baltimore City. This city is predominantly Democrat, but I know most of the city residents are just as fed up with how this city is governed.

In a survey from Morgan State University:

“A vast majority of participants (more than 90%) describe Baltimore’s crime rate as high when given a choice between high, moderate, low and ‘no description.’ Participants provided no single explanation for what the majority believed to be a high crime rate. Instead, they provided varying explanations, ranging from drugs and lack of economic opportunity…”

Institute For Urban Research, March 26, 2020

Most are not going to take drastic steps like joining the Republican Party for change; those same people should not see us who join the Party with the intent to hurt the City.

Abandoned factory/plant in Baltimore.

I’m just as concerned with boarded-up houses, abandon schools, and government corruption in City Hall as most of the citizens of Baltimore.

We need a change. I am part of that change needed for Baltimore’s District 7.

I didn’t put my name on the ballot for status quo or to inflate my ego. I’m running for office to bring communities back. Communities should not have to witness another black life gunned down in front of any store in Baltimore. I am not part of the “Grand Old Party” and old ways of doing things; I, with my colleagues, are part of a new party that wants fiscal responsibility in City Hall, anti-corruption put in place, and to see this city grow again.

I want to see stores, like my grandfather’s Carryout, build generational wealth in District 7 again. I’m part of new solutions and new ideas.  I’m with the “Grand New Party.”

Opinion: We Are Living In A War Against God

From Anonymous In Maryland.

Throughout history mankind has been in rebellion against God.

Beginning with Adam and Eve and original sin, which is defined as disobedience of God, humans have consistently challenged God’s laws and commandments. Our nature has been to historically rebel against God.  In biblical terms this is called sin.

Today, more than any other time in American history, we see the distinct differences in our two political parties. It’s easy to place our two parties into one of two categories, with God or against God. It’s obvious how the Democrat Party has sought to divide our nation using racial, socioeconomic, and religious themes.

This article deals with religious differences. The attacks from Democrats on the religious faith of U.S. Supreme Court nominee Amy Coney Barrett show the extreme anti-God feelings that run deep within the Democrat Party. Barrett’s life and beliefs represents everything that the Democrats oppose. Amy Barrett represents what the Bible in Philippians 4:8 calls good, pure, noble, lovely admirable, and true:

“Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.”

Philippians 4:8

Its opposite, as embraced by Democrats, would be defined as evil, hateful, untrue, dishonorable, impure, abominable, and deplorable.

It’s no secret the Democrats seek to remove the phrase “under God” from our national pledge. Nativities are banned in many Democrat-controlled cities and towns. Plaques showing the ten commandments have been removed from many government courthouses.  Prayer has been banned in schools.

Teachers are not permitted to mention God. Churches have been closed and attendance limited during the recent China Virus. Churches have been issued huge fines and congregants arrested for violating local laws restricting church attendance and public worship. Abortion clinics are ruled essential and allowed to be open for business while churches are deemed non-essential.  The phrase “Merry Christmas” has been replaced with the phrase “Happy Holidays,” while Halloween grows bigger each year. Christians are ridiculed by the Democrat-controlled media, and those who embrace Judeo-Christian values are scoffed at by Hollywood.

Sadly, life itself has been devalued by the Democrat left. Murder and violence in the streets is no longer criticized by them. The killing of millions of unborn babies through abortion is commonly embraced by Democrats. I would go so far as to say the Democrat Party has become the party of Satan.

Spiritual warfare is not a new word. The apostle Paul in the book of Ephesians addresses this issue. In the sixth chapter of Ephesians verse 12 he writes:

“For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.”

Ephesians 6:12

The army of Satan is alive and well in the Democrat Party. Never in my lifetime would I have envisioned this in America. One has to ask themselves: how long will God allow this to continue? If one believes in Biblical prophecy then they would understand that one day God will step in to reclaim the world He created. This is referred to in Revelation as Armageddon.

I believe the spiritual warfare, the battle between good and evil we are experiencing today, is placing us closer to God’s return to reclaim His world and defeat Satan and evil once and for all.

The battle lines are drawn. You must decide which army you embrace. I choose God’s army.

Fenati: Hullabaloo, Feelings, and Precedent, Oh My (The Supreme Court Drama)

By Patricia Fenati Of Montgomery County, Maryland.

Thoughts on the Supreme Court.

There has been a lot of “hullabaloo” on the appointment of a Supreme Court Justice in the year of the election of the president. The Democrats are saying that a new justice should not be appointed until after the next inauguration… this is not what they said in 2016.

It is interesting to note that, at least in recent history, it is only Republican nominees who have gone through hell during the nomination process (e.g., Robert Bork, Clarence Thomas, and Brett Kavanaugh, among others).

Thomas Jipping, Senior Legal Fellow and Deputy Director of the Edwin Meese Center for Legal and Judicial Studies, on Direct Line (sound starts at 13:00)

According to Thomas Jipping, Senior Legal Fellow and Deputy Director of the Edwin Meese Center for Legal and Judicial Studies, that is because Republicans believe that justices should only look at the law and not consider their personal beliefs and preferences when deciding cases.

Since Democrats believe that Supreme Court decisions are made on feelings of the Justices, they are much more critical of the personal background of the nominees.

Actually, for 127 years after the Constitution was ratified, the Senate did not hold public confirmation hearings for Supreme Court nominees. Senators looked at the nominees themselves and simply voted “yea” or “nay.” There was no “hullabaloo” at hearings because there were no hearings.

Today’s familiar image of a President’s Supreme Court nominee sitting before the Senate Judiciary Committee to be grilled about his or her views did not begin until President Woodrow Wilson nominated Louis Brandeis to the Supreme Court in 1916, just over a hundred years ago; the Senate held public hearings for the first time that year.

In 2016, before President Obama nominated a Justice, the Republican Senators sent a letter to Senator Mitch McConnell saying they would not vote for a Supreme Court nominee before a new president was sworn in. The election was certain to give a new president and we must remember, at that time, many thought it likely that Hillary Clinton would win.

Some Key Items To Consider

Two important circumstances were in play in 2016:

  1. Divided Senate and Presidency.
  2. The current president would not be in office after the election.

Previously in U.S. history when the above circumstances occurred, only 2 out of 9 times was a new Supreme Court judge appointed. The similarity of the 2020 situation to 2016 is only surface similarity.

In 2020, the circumstances are the exact opposite of what they were in 2016:

  1. No divided government; the President and Senate are the same party.
  2.  The incumbent president may continue into a second term if re-elected.
Historically in 17 out of 19 times when same party was in the White House and Senate, a new judge was appointed to the Supreme Court in the year of election.

Interesting how four years can completely change a person’s views. Below are quotes from Democrats in 2016 (my comments below the quotes are in italics):

“The American people deserve a fully staffed Court of nine.”

Vice President Joe Biden, 2016

“The president nominates and then the Senate advises and consents, or not, but they go forward with the process.”

Presidential candidate Hillary Clinton, 2016

Their advice in 2016 was to wait.

“What we are seeing here, and I hope this is temporary, is a disrespect for the Constitution.”

Congresswoman Nancy Pelosi, 2016

“The constitution is 100% clear; the President of the United State has the right to nominate someone to be a justice of the Supreme Court. The Senate’s function is to hold hearings and to vote.”

Senator Bernie Sanders, 2016

FACT CHECK: FALSE. Actually, no, the Constitution says nothing about hearings, and there never were confirmation hearings before 1916. The Senate’s function is to advise and consent (or not, to quote Hillary).

“The blockade on filling a naturally occurring vacancy, in my view, is harmful to the independence of the Article III Branch.”

Senator and Vice Presidential candidate Tim Kaine, 2016

“You cannot keep a seat on the Supreme Court which represents all of us, you cannot keep it vacant against the Constitution.”

Senator Patrick Leahy, 2016

FACT CHECK: FALSE. The Supreme Court represents the LAW, not us.

“They do pretty much everything they can to avoid acknowledging the legitimacy of our democratically-elected President.”

Senator Elizabeth Warren, 2016

Oh that’s right… the Republicans impeached President Obama for non-crimes and non-misdemeanors …..WAIT…NO… It was the Democrats who avoided acknowledging the legitimacy of President Trump and fabricated a nonsensical  impeachment.

“The American people expect the President’s nominee to be given a fair hearing and a timely vote in the Senate.”

Congresswoman Nancy Pelosi, 2016

Was that hearing for Brett Kavanaugh fair?

“Every day that goes by without a ninth justice is another day the American people’s business is not getting done.”

Senator Chuck Schumer, 2016

And what business did the House of Representatives get done over the last two years?

“I say to you: do your jobs, vote for a Supreme Court Nominee.”

Senator Elizabeth Warren, 2016

“Instead of just saying the blanket rule is no matter who you are, no matter what your qualifications, because you were sent by this president we will create a unique rule for you and refuse to entertain you.”

Senator and Vice Presidential Candidate Tim Kaine, 2016

“One of the most important consequences of who is president of the United States is who sits on the United States Supreme Court.”

Senator and Vice Presidential candidate Kamala Harris, 2020

“If you want to stop extremism in your party, you can start by showing the American People that you respect the President of the United States and the Constitution.”

Senator Elizabeth Warren, 2016

“The American People deserve a fully staffed court of nine.”

Vice President Joe Biden, 2016

Here’s Why Corrupt Politicos Reject Nine Districts For MoCo (Question D)

From A Supporter of Question D (Nine Districts For MoCo).

Phase One: Submit Over 10,000 Certified Voters’ Signatures (COMPLETE)

The bi-partisan fight for nine council districts in Montgomery County (MoCo) successfully concluded Phase One of the effort by getting over 10,000 certified voters’ signatures to qualify getting the proposal on the ballot this coming November. This led the effort’s organizers to initiate Phase Two – getting the voters educated on the Nine Council Districts initiative and how to mark the ballot when they vote. Ballot marking became more critical when the County Council, in an effort to kill the Nine Districts proposal and in a most un-Democratic fashion, entered their own proposal; there was no public debate on the Council’s proposal, just nine council members happy with the status quo looking to thwart the interests of the county’s residents. So, Phase Two now requires us to educate voters on how to cast their vote.

Phase Two: Educate The Voters (Vote YES on D and NO on C)

The ballot will offer two Questions. Question “C” is the Council’s proposal to retain the 4 “At-Large” members and add two (2) more district seats, thereby increasing the Council’s participation to a total of 11 with all of the associated costs, which is estimated to be well over $2,000,000.00 in additional budget requirements. Question “D,” the Nine Council Districts proposal, will also be on the ballot. Voters need to know that if they do not want “C” and they do want “D” they must mark their ballot – against “C” AND for “D.” Should both questions receive the same number of votes, they will “cancel” each other out and the status quo remains.

Phase Three: Equitable Redistricting For Equal Representation

During Phase Two the education of the MoCo voter will continue as early voting approaches. Phase Two must inevitably lead to Phase Three of the effort: the redistricting of the County in a fair and equitable manner that will finally make available on the Council the voices of county residents who have been systematically ignored by the County Council( except when its time for re-election, of course). Councilmember Evan Glass tipped his hand on a Zoom Call with county residents in attendance when he made it clear that if Question “D” passes there is still the process of redrawing the district lines- a process that will be done by a Committee of county residents using Census data to help guide this Committee through their efforts.

Having lived in MoCo for some 30 years, my expectation is that this Committee will be stacked in a manner that insures the gerrymandering of the County is consistent in a way that guarantees not a single dissenting voice will ever make it to a council seat – ever.

If the Phase One and Phase Two efforts are to have any chance of successful implementation, it will be critical to understand:

  1. Who gets appointed to this Committee;
  2. Political affiliation must count and be represented fairly;
  3. There cannot be any overt interference from either the Council or the County Executive as the Committee goes about its work; and
  4. The Committee’s work cannot be nullified by the Council or the County Executive.

A true effort must be made by this Committee to apportion the representation on the Council in a fair and equitable manner, drawing boundary lines consistent with county residents’ needs, so that the voices of all the county residents can be heard, even when those voices do not agree with the longstanding single party rule that has dominated MoCo for so long.

Opinion: World Peace Is Being Suppressed By Big Tech

From Anonymous In Maryland.

When I was young, I was watching what happened in Kosovo on the news. Major metropolitan area with snipers on the roofs, people getting killed in the street. Then came the Gulf War, followed by Gulf War II. A conflict that lasted longer and has been more expensive than WWII. Each has a unique horror, both in terms of what happened and what has been done to prolong each conflict.

Peace has seemed so fleeting, and the solutions politicians have put in place seem to continue wars for reasons I can’t fathom.

At some level, we all remember these events even if we can’t recall the specifics. They were the defining conflicts for my generation and leave me with questions for the purpose of foreign policy; definitely different from the wingtips and briefcase diplomacy certain neo-liberals like to project.

Kosovo’s President Hashim Thaci signs the Order of Freedom awarded to U.S President Donald Trump, in capital Pristina, Kosovo on Friday, Sept. 18, 2020. Kosovo’s president awarded U.S. President Donald Trump with one of the country’s highest medals – Kosovo’s Order of Freedom – for his government’s efforts on peace and reconciliation in the former war-torn region. (AP Photo/Visar Kryeziu)

President Trump received Kosovo’s highest award last week for bringing peace to the region. The week before that, Jared Kushner took the first direct flight from the United Arab Emirates to Israel and was not shot down by a surface-to-air missile. These are things worth celebrating; it’s deeply concerning that the media is not trumpeting these victories over chaos.

Both events are a triumph for civilization and result from an administration that’s not tied to a set of perverse incentives. If anything, they are the result of outsider politics and the Constitution working as designed for the benefit of all Americans and the world.

In January, we completed a sham impeachment where the President was accused of doing the exact things the Bidens did as detailed in this report. While I’d like to be optimistic, the odds of this report penetrating the public conscience are statistically irrelevant.

There’s a system in place, and it protects itself by saying reports like this are discredited conspiracy theories constructed by racist, sexist white nationalists who need to be thrown in jail.

Big tech companies will suppress it; the number of media mentions as of 6:00am were about 70 [Editor’s note: this piece was written on September 23, 2020]. By comparison, LeBron James and Michael Bloomberg had over 2,700 mentions for paying fines for Florida felons so they could vote.

Something is rotten in Denmark. We’re all watching the Queen marry the new King.

Virtual Learning Series: Pediatric Patients & Suicides On The Rise

From Anonymous Working In Howard County General Hospital’s (HCGH) Pediatric Emergency Room (ER).

“I cannot be silent anymore. I work in the HCGH pediatric ER.

Starting last week, our pediatric mental health patients exploded. I know of at least one suicide of a high school student this past week. This is a serious problem. One child in the state of Maryland has died of Covid-19.

One in the whole pandemic!

How many suicides are OK? I am shaking as I write this.

Kids are resilient to a point. You have to open schools. You can do this safely.

You spent a fortune on Chrome books. You could have easily used that money to buy enough PPE [Personal Protective Equipment] for all of the kids and teachers.

Parents, have conversations with your kids NOW. See how they are doing. Check in with your adult friends and neighbors, too.

Suicide is a silent killer.

Opinion: Want To Save America? End Conservative Complacency.

From A Fed Up Patriot In Montgomery County, Maryland.

Webster’s dictionary defines complacency as “a feeling of quiet pleasure or security, often while unaware of some potential danger, defect, or the like; self-satisfaction or smug satisfaction with an existing situation, condition, etc.”  Laziness and complacency are semantically related. In some cases, you can use “Laziness” instead of “Complacency.”

Recently, if one has been following the news, they are aware that our country is at a positional crossroads.

America as we know it is being fundamentally challenged by extreme leftists bent on transforming America into a socialist/Marxist country.

The Washington Free Beacon last week reported that big money and forces are behind the Democrats to assist in this cultural revolution. The article went on to say post-election mobilization isn’t just a project for the liberal fringe, but is rather a powerful Democrat interest group with a massive dark money network.  The author went on to detail how many hundreds of millions of dollars are funneled through laundering organizations into Democrat causes.

We are up against enemies of America who are expertly organized and well-funded.

So, what does this mean for America? It means American voters must no longer be complacent. Normal, conservative Americans must take a stand. They must vote their conscience if America is to continue to be the land of the free and home of the brave. If you are a student of the Bible, you are aware that the apostle John wrote to seven of the early churches of that day. One church in particular, the church at Laodicea, located in modern Turkey, was a focus of John’s writing.  The message to Laodicea is one of judgement with a call to repentance. The traditional view has been that the Laodiceans were being criticized for their neutrality or lack of zeal (hence “lukewarm”). In Rev 3:15-16 John describes the Laodicians:

“I know all the things you do, that you are neither hot nor cold. I wish that you were one or the other! But since you are like lukewarm water, neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of my mouth!”

Rev 3:15-16

No one likes lukewarm soda or water; to be lukewarm in today’s political climate is to write the final chapter for America as we know it.

Should the Democrats succeed in winning the election, they have already told us they will change the structure of our court system, stacking our courts with leftist, liberal judges. The 2nd amendment will be revoked. The killing of babies through abortion will continue. Our freedom to worship will be revoked even as churches have been penalized and silenced during the coronavirus. Our 1st amendment freedom of speech will go away through the elimination of words that are designated as not “politically correct.” Our freedoms that we have enjoyed in America will be limited, as we have witnessed during the pandemic, or as I call it the “Dem-panic.” The violent lawbreakers will be given a free pass and the law-abiding citizens will be punished.

The America we have witnessed over the past several months will become the norm.

Those Democrats who lead us in the House and Senate will continue their disgusting politics. The Justice Department will become the Injustice Department. The double standard between the elite class of rulers will become even more visible and tolerated.

The time for straddling the fence is over. Every vote counts. Franklin Graham reported that 30 million Christians did not vote in the last election. In the 2020 election every vote is needed. Please don’t be complacent. Our Judeo-Christian values are at stake.

Think Pre-K Indoctrination Is Bad? Look At High School Level Curriculum

From an anonymous teacher and parent in the Montgomery County, Maryland Public School System (MCPS).

The graphics below are from a PowerPoint presentation provided to teachers in MCPS.

One look at Angel Kyodo Williams’ website and you will understand how important it is to educate yourself about what exactly is being taught to your children, and who is influencing these curriculum decisions.

The slide above makes the assumption it is difficult “to talk about race.” Making wide, generalized assumptions is once again furthering the divide and forcing people to have “conversations” about a problem that does not exist in the majority of the population, and an issue that was exacerbated by former President Obama.

The goal of this slide is to curb free speech, plain and simple. From the slide above, the definition of a “microaggression” could be anything that offends another person. ANYTHING. Best to shut up at this point in the event you appear racist.

Nothing like an MTV video to class this discussion up. Apparently, only White people can cause “microaggressions” by simply breathing air.

This slide comes from tolerance.org. Enjoy reading their entire guide to combating everyday prejudice, bias, and stereotypes. Another reminder to curb free speech and limit actual debates through interruption, “education” a.k.a. indoctrination, and “echo,” which sounds eerily similar to creating an echo chamber of intolerance.

Keep on reading.

Both slides above provide instruction on how to act, how to think, and what to do to prevent an offended person from….what? Lashing out and calling you a racist? Burning your car? Destroying your business? Are we supposed to be tiptoeing through life making sure we don’t offend someone?

This slide is showcasing how misinformation helps to further racial tensions. Note the need to provide “powerful” photographs to emotionally manipulate people into thinking and feeling a certain way. I’d like to know how many Hispanic residents were tested compared to other races, as well as what percentage of that entire population of the suburb is Hispanic. I’d like to know if Black children are so scared of dying, why are they out protesting instead of quarantining themselves? Who told that woman that her ethnicity is a “virus”? Are my questions “offending” you? Unlike the slides’ instructions, I refuse to apologize; guess that makes me a “racist” with “implicit bias.”

Didn’t think you needed to panic during a conversation about race? No problem, because the school system wants you to use this calming video to stop a panic attack before it even happens. This is classic psychological conditioning, folks: repeatedly telling someone that they will need to calm down after having a “courageous conversation about race” when they aren’t having any anxiety issues, will lead them to eventually associate having a panic attack or experience anxiety when discussing this topic.

I encourage all parents to click on the reference links below to get a better idea of where we are headed; if this continues, our children will not be educated to become productive members of society. They will become social justice warriors with no marketable skills, thereby relying more heavily on government handouts to create a comfortable standard of living.

Virtual Learning Series: How The School System Is Failing My Child (#4)

We are bringing awareness to the unjust and unfair treatment our nation’s children are experiencing due to state-sanctioned indoctrination and certain schools not reopening in the DC Metro Area.

I wanted to share something that ties into Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS), black lives matter (BLM), and Law Enforcement (LE).

Recently I saw my son’s high school teacher wearing a BLM shirt on their zoom meeting for class. We addressed it by expressing our concern with the principal, informing him of my husband’s service and how my entire career has been in support of all levels of LE in many different ways throughout the years.

Today we received a response.

“MCPS does not recognize Black Lives Matter as political speech. It is recognized as an advocacy group started as a response to police shootings, as you can read on their website. The organization’s mission is aligned with the MCPS core values, and it is representative of our inclusive environment. That said, I did discuss the shirt with the teacher and let her know that one of her student’s families took offense to her wearing of the shirt so she was aware of the possible impact on some of her students and community members.”

The first issue is the principal speaking for the district. The second is the BLM site. Their political advocacy isn’t listed on the “About” page but it is listed on the “What’s Next” portion of their site.

My question is why is this acceptable? They are saying that the district’s core values align with civil unrest and the targeting of LE? MCPS is the largest school district in MD.

THIS is what our kids are seeing and secretly learning? I’m utterly speechless right now.

Anonymous in Montgomery County, Maryland

Exclusive: An Undercover Look At Montgomery County Public Schools

Written by a former educator and a retired teacher of the Montgomery County, Maryland Public School System (MCPS).

What’s really being taught?

As a former educator I have a deep appreciation for education. What’s happening in the Montgomery County School System and systems across our nation is not education- it’s indoctrination. The children of Montgomery County are being programmed to accept the Marxist ideology by teachers whose jobs are at risk if they challenge the system. This is happening under the watchwords: equity, 1619 project, social justice, racism, police brutality, cancel culture, and social reform.

President Trump recently shared his concern for teaching alternative American History.

“We want our sons and daughters to know the truth.”

“Our country wasn’t built on cancel culture, speech codes, and crushing conformity; we are not a nation of timid spirits.”

My wife, who is a retired teacher from MCPS, recently contacted several of her conservative friends still teaching in the system. She asked them how the current cancel culture environment is affecting their teaching. Here are some of the responses:

“I was given the book ‘White Fragility’ and was told we’d be discussing it during staff development. We also received an email after the George Floyd incident that expressed the administration’s white guilt we all should feel. It was re-sent at the beginning of the school year. Conservative teachers are frustrated and many are ready to retire.

“Teachers and para educators are required by the county to view 10 videos redefining race, sexual orientation, and inappropriate words considered politically and socially incorrect. Teachers and paras must adhere to these new standards or risk disciplinary actions or termination. Many of these new guidelines conflict with the moral and ethical values that Judeo-Christian teachers hold.

“I assisted in a classroom where the teacher had a large picture of president Obama on the wall with the caption under it that read, ‘Greatest President Ever.’ The flag was placed next to the American flag so children were forced to view this every morning as the pledge was recited.”

“I recently posted a clip on my personal Facebook page following the attempted police assassination in Los Angeles that read Police Lives Matter. I was told by the administration that I must remove it or face disciplinary action.

“As a history teacher I’m expected to teach the narrative, ‘It’s not a black fight but rather a human fight.’ Every teacher in every context is expected to teach something regarding it. It’s also taught in homeroom.”

“I see bias. When the kids go to a source to site examples during an assignment MCPS always uses very liberal news outlets like CNN, New York Times, Vox, etc.

Another testimonial we got was from a Montgomery County police officer who shared that the police had been called because a teacher was offended during her zoom class because a student had a “Trump 2020” poster on his bedroom wall. She reported she was subject to cyber bullying and wanted the police to investigate. As it turns out, the student was suspended for two days. Sadly, we don’t hear this on the nightly news.

Another testimony quoted from The MoCo Conservative blog from a 1st grade mother was that her child was read to from a book entitled, Antiracist Baby, by Ibram X. Kendi. Another junior from Rockville High School had to write a report on the black lives matter (BLM) movement.

Another student at Montgomery College wrote a paper on anti-abortion. Her teacher told her the paper was written extremely well and would have received an “A,” but because of the content she would only receive a “C.”

Conservative teachers in Montgomery County are being bullied, intimidated, disciplined, and reprimanded for their conservative beliefs. They are mandated to teach using the new narrative. As a result, we see middle school and high school students standing on street corners holding up signs which support BLM, “social justice,” and de-funding the police.  They are clueless and naïve relative to the history of Marxism and Communism.

Middle school and high school students are the product of our failed school system that devotes more time to social reform than teaching basic curriculum.

So, what are the solutions?

  1. Remove the Marxist leaders governing Montgomery County, most of whom live in Takoma Park, Maryland, and replace them with conservative leaders who appreciate patriotism and embrace our historical past embedded in Judeo-Christian values;
  2. Elect a school board that is willing to take a stand to resist the liberal teacher unions and Marxist leadership of Montgomery County;
  3. Campaign for school vouchers so that those who cannot afford private schools can have the right to have their children receive a non-biased, normal education;
  4. Place your children in private schools that reflect your moral and ethical values;
  5.  Move to a state or county that has a more conservative agenda; and
  6. Accept that a do-nothing attitude will result in your child’s indoctrination and acceptance into the new narrative of Marxism.

MCPS Educators To White Parents: Your Child Is Racist

From An Anonymous Parent in Montgomery County, Maryland.

Here is proof that Montgomery County, Maryland Public Schools (MCPS) is teaching children as young as pre-K that White people are inherently racist. The following materials are being used to help teachers indoctrinate our children into becoming marxist, anti-White foot soldiers to help herald in a new era of radical, government-sanctioned ideology.

MCPS PowerPoint slide for teachers, including notes on how to start the “discussion of race” with children from birth.

Let’s start with the first hyperlink, which is also this post’s main graphic. As you can see, based on a short, paraphrased blurb from a single study, it has been understood by the makers of this sheet that, “[W]hite children remain strongly biased in favor of whiteness.”

The Children’s Community School of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania made a graphic using paraphrased and falsified language from one study, and now MCPS is utilizing it for their own curriculum. What do we know about the Children’s Community School?

Their commitment to social justice is prevalent throughout their website, and I think they falsely paraphrased a scientific study in the hopes of creating an echo chamber within the education/indoctrination system. Take a look at the study’s summary:

Challenging the view that implicit social cognition emerges from protracted social learning, research now suggests that intergroup preferences are present at adultlike levels in early childhood. Specifically, the pattern of developmental emergence of implicit attitudes is characterized by (i) rapidly emerging implicit preferences for ingroups and dominant groups and (ii) stability of these preferences across development. Together these findings demonstrate that implicit intergroup preferences follow a developmental course distinct from explicit intergroup preferences. In addition these results cast doubt on ‘slow-learning’ models of implicit social cognition according to which children should converge on adult forms of social cognition only as statistical regularities are internalized over a lengthy period of development.

Dunham et al, 2008.

Did you understand that the first time reading through it? I’m more interested in learning why and how a pre-school educator is able to decipher this cognitive study, concisely paraphrase it, and provide an inaccurate description of what the study is actually about…unless she (or he) had some help.

From the same MCPS PowerPoint slide titled, “Teacher Notes,” I have learned that the book, Antiracist Baby, is being used to further divide people by their race:

MCPS provided this guide from Ibram X. Kendi for caregivers and parents “to begin explicit conversations about race and racism with our children from a young age.”

And now we have the slide below, which is clearly showing that children enrolled in pre-Kindergarten, Kindergarten, First Grade, and Second Grade do not belong in a classroom where they are nurtured to grow and become successful, intelligent, and good adults in society–no, they belong out in the streets, protesting against the Bad Orange Man and his evil, racist ways!

From a PowerPoint presentation for teachers of children in levels Pre-K, K, 1, and 2.

Below are the notes for teachers in the PowerPoint slide, providing scripts for discussing the purpose of what the MCPS school system considers social justice in today’s society:

Sample Script Pre-k-K:

“Let’s talk about why Black and brown people are treated
unfairly. Here is a book about why that happens. Let’s watch and listen.”

Watch the video

Sample Script: “The book talks about racism. What did the
author say about racism?”

(Racism definition from video: When people believe that
having different color skin means you aren’t as good as others.)

Say, “People who don’t think it is fair to treat people
differently based on their skin color work for “Social Justice.”

“Social Justice is believing that all people have equal
rights, no matter their race or background, and doing actions to change rules or systems that cause some people to be treated unfairly.

There are protests happening all over our country and the
world because people are acting on their beliefs that all people should be treated fairly and are protesting to change things that make life harder for some people.”

“The book talks about racism. What did the author say
about racism?” (The book stated that some people get more and
some people get less because policies don’t always give equal access. Racism is when people create policies or rules that are not fair to everyone because of their skin color.)

Say, “People who don’t think it is fair to treat people
differently based on their skin color work for “Social Justice”.

To parents who want their children to learn reading, writing, arithmetic, and kindness in their formative years, this social justice agenda is being shoved down the throats of your impressionable, innocent, young children. Ask yourself:

1. Are you willing to take the chance and not have a say in what your child is being “taught,” or better yet, what your child is being indoctrinated with?

2. Do you want your child to immediately start judging people by the color of their skin before even speaking to them?

3. Do you want your child to consider every thing they read, and every person they speak to, through the lens of what that person looks like and their race, instead of how they act and treat them?

4. Are you comfortable with having your child labeled as inherently racist because of the color of their skin?

5. Have you considered why this is being done to your children at such a young age?

Police Reform: Two Treatises And The Case Of Dijon Kizzee

Thomas Black lives in Leesburg, Virginia.

As the debate regarding police reform grows in intensity, we must consider the legislation Law Enforcement Officers (LEOs) are being asked to enforce.

More importantly, what is the governing philosophy to which the legislators must hold LEOs and citizens accountable?

I recently became aware of an individual in Los Angeles, California who was allegedly unarmed at the time of being shot by local law enforcement; while I do not wish to take the tragedy of a life lost and turn it into a mere political discussion, further reflection may – in fact – save lives. Furthermore, it is worth noting that all of the information about the Dijon Kizzee case has likely not been made public, and this discussion must be tempered with the understanding that more information could, in fact, nullify or modulate aspects of my opinion. Nonetheless, I believe it is important to examine why law enforcement began interacting with Mr. Kizzee.

What law was Mr. Kizzee breaking which initiated LEO contact?

According to the article, Mr. Kizzee was stopped while riding his bicycle for vehicle code violations. Permit me, for a moment, to frame the criminal activity like this:  Mr. Kizzee was engaged by LEOs for operating the same instrument of transportation that my two year-old son is currently learning to master. Should we now pause and consider what principles of government would lend itself to such legislation, and require armed officials to police such behavior?

To answer this question, I would submit that there are two fundamental philosophies of government in modern American politics.

One philosophy, as evidenced by a tweet from U.S. Representative Jennifer Wexton (VA-10), suggests that the function of government is to create laws that would progress society toward a better future – according to the government’s relative understanding of betterment at the time – and the popular election is the primary source of justification needed for subsequent legislation.  The other philosophy would espouse a view concluding that the primary role of government is to protect the individual liberty of citizens.  In the case of Dijon Kizzee, Eric Gardner, and others, these two perspectives proved immeasurably consequential.

As ambiguity has no friendship with good intentions, I will clearly state that it is my belief that a governing body, no matter how well-intentioned, will often subject the governed to unforeseen and unintended consequences of laws which go beyond the intent of protecting individuals to an encroachment on their civil rights and personal liberties.

Our Declaration of Independence states,

“…to secure these [inalienable] rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed…”

Our Constitution, under the 14th Amendment, broadly recognizes that the government is responsible for protecting “life, liberty, or property.”  This, therefore, begs the question:

What benefit did Eric Garner and Dijon Kizzee derive from their local governments and the laws they passed, which I have to assume were well-meaning and intended for societal betterment and progress?

Virtual Learning Series: How The School System Is Failing My Child (#3)

We are bringing awareness to the unjust and unfair treatment our nation’s children are experiencing due to state-sanctioned indoctrination and certain schools not reopening in the DC Metro Area.

“After just two days of attending 9th grade in FCPS [Fairfax County Public Schools], my child has had multiple lessons on white privilege, police brutality, social injustice, and systemic racism with some erroneous statistics and politics sprinkled in.

On the first day, she was also threatened by two students who want to beat her up, because they heard a rumor that she was a Trump supporter.

Of course, she’s afraid to speak up and report the threats, because she said the rules/Student Rights and Responsibilities don’t apply to her, because she is white, and reporting it will make things worse.

It’s a shame what’s happened to our public schools. She and other students were threatened over the summer when they posted American flags and commented online against violent rioting.

I can’t believe this is what people are voting for and what they want for our children and their future. It’s sad that kids can’t just go to school to learn, but have to have politics forced on them at a such a young age. Even my 6th grader had to deal with politics this week with classmates starting political arguments in the classroom chat.”

Opinion: The Hypocrisy of Anti-Racism and the Left

From an anonymous resident of Prince George’s County, Maryland.

The liberal establishment is working overtime to create propaganda in order to punish, accuse, label, and cancel those who disagree with their philosophy or who refuse to support the Democrat Party.  They are the very ones creating division and racism in our country, right down to our local communities.  It’s a “don’t look at the man behind the curtain” moment, where they try to create a diversion so that you don’t see the real people behind the scenes. They are the ones – the racists – who are dividing the people.

The term “anti-racism” sounds good and seems to make sense on the surface, but it’s deceptive. Dr. Ibram X. Kendi, an anti-racist activist and author of a children’s book titled, Antiracist Baby, claims that you are either a racist, or an anti-racist.

If you say that you are not racist, then you are racist. Unless you are involved in anti-racism activism, then you are a racist.

“There is no in-between safe space of ‘not racist.’” If you disagree or reject this philosophy, then you are an absolute, racist denier without exception. The interesting thing is that this philosophy is directed at white people as expressed in his interviews and writings.

In a live seminar hosted by the Prince George’s Public Library in Maryland on July 20, 2020, when asked by a moderator if racism exists in the black community, Kendi would not answer the question and quickly changed the subject. The interview has since been taken down as of August 20, 2020.

Ibram X. Kendi is a toxic person who sows seeds of discord, hatred, and division while speaking in a subtle, gentle tone in order to deceive his audience.

Those who genuinely support this anti-racism philosophy are not purposed to eliminate racism or establish equality, but to dismantle society in order to establish an upper hand of power. It is a political play – it’s all about votes for the white liberals, and it’s about black supremacy, power, and retribution for those who want to be lawless without consequence.

Here is an example of Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) using racially discriminating propaganda. Which specific group is portrayed as the mad one?

From the MCPS PowerPoint presentation, “3rd through 5th grade Psychoeducational Lesson”

If a white liberal pretends that they support anti-racism rhetoric, they are hoping to gain the minority vote.  Yet, the politicians cater to this are the ones less likely to invite a person of color over to their home for dinner or to simply hangout.

Don’t be deceived. Minorities are being used as pawns by those claiming to help their cause. Many blacks realize the bigotry of their phony alliances, but will use any avenue necessary to accomplish their goal. This is the real systematic racism, but the illusionists would lead you to think otherwise.

Author

Supremacy by any color is absolutely unacceptable. Nobody is better than another. Ever since Obama was in office, he has stoked the flames of racism and brought us nearly back to the 60’s with his rhetoric.  If the majority in this country were made up of all white supremacists (as claimed the main problem today), Obama would not have been elected for two terms. Decades worth of healing and unity was all undermined during his terms. Yet, the very establishment that created this will blame it all on those who are not responsible.

“Privilege” is a political term. Everyone living in America is privileged to be in this great country. However, some disagree and covet (want) what others have so bad, they will do anything to demand or take it, even to go as far as murder. The term privilege is awful when color is paired with it. Whenever someone has something that the other desires, it is considered privilege even though the person has worked for it.  The term privilege is loosely used as if the person who earned something got it for free, and that the anti-racists themselves should be entitled to have that also. This is what the welfare system has gotten us, from catering to it for all these years. This victim-hood/entitlement mentality is very toxic and destructive.

If anything, there is non-white privilege. There is preferential treatment for people of color receiving:

  • college scholarships,
  • extra points on the SAT,
  • priority in college acceptance,
  • first right of refusal for government contracts,
  • program eligibility,
  • lesser penalty for breaking the law (opposite of what is portrayed),
  • health prioritization and approval (opposite of what is portrayed), and
  • all hands on deck with formally filed complaints (establishment fears of civil rights violations).

White-filed complaints are mostly disregarded or dismissed. The liberal establishments and the legal system are rigged against white, heterosexual males.

Whites are more likely to be pulled over for moving violations than blacks, because it is assumed that whites will behave, comply, and are able to pay the fine (yes, that’s racist). Yet, if a white person told the officer “you pulled me over because I am white,” they would be laughed at.  When a black person says to an officer “you pulled me over because I’m black,” the officer may not respond or buy into that statement, but they certainly would not laugh either. The bottom line is, whites are also profiled and yes, they receive different treatment that is not always positive or privileged as some would lead you to believe.

This machine, fueled by mere hatred and evil, includes: BLM, Antifa, Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, Nation of Islam, Black Liberation Movement, New Black Panther Party, the Democrat Party, Cancel Culture, Liberal States, and indoctrination mills. They use propaganda placed in school systems, news media, and social networking. There is nothing unifying about them or what they are doing.

Cities are being burned and people are being labeled, blamed, and assassinated. The machine consists of lynch mobs, and their goal is to destroy America.

In addition, the blame game, degrading others, and a fight for policy changes cannot address racism. Racism exists in the heart of man, regardless of color. Policy cannot change heart, where the true problem resides. Racism is also not a one-way road. Certain groups get a pass-go and are allowed to be justified in their racism as if it does not exist or apply to them. This is the real systematic racism that exists today.

School systems are pandering to this philosophy, and they work to establish that stereotypes and racism can only stem from white people.  Ironically, they themselves are the ones stereotyping and being racist through their anti-racism activism, curriculum, and mandated training for teachers.

Both Wicomico County Public Schools as well as Montgomery County Public Schools are an example of the racist, Marxist, indoctrination movement that we see going on in our local schools and throughout the country.

We as citizens are calling on ALL people of ALL races to be as one. We cannot let the establishment segregate us into groups, turn us from each other, and destroy our country. It’s time to replace this hatred with love and respect for others.  We need to clean up our act, get it together, and not allow others to control or mandate the evil that they call good, and the good that they call evil.

Help! I’m A Closet Conservative Teacher (Part II)

Apparently, we are in a dual pandemic.

Dual. That means two.

At least that’s what Montgomery County Public Schools would have its staff and students believe.

Source: MCPS 3rd through 5th grade Psychoeducational Lesson PowerPoint slide

Teacher note:

The term “dual pandemic” is a term used in the secondary lessons.  The students are reading an article that discusses the term.  Depending on your school’s equity journey in the building, staff may have concerns with the term for multiple reasons.  The goal of this slide is to demonstrate to students that there are two major events that are happening in the world right now.  One due to COVID-19 and the other due to social justice responses to combat systemic racism that is and has been occurring for hundreds of years.  If students do not understand or there are concerns with calling social justice responses a “pandemic,” the “dual pandemic” wording can be replaced with wording that your students recognize in your building.  The content of the slides should remain the same.

Teacher script:

“Right now, there are two pandemics that are happening. You may have heard about these and seen pictures or videos about them. Sometimes it is called a “double pandemic” or a “dual pandemic.” These two major events that are impacting the whole world. The first is COVID-19 and the other is racism. Let’s review these.”

MCPS’s 3rd through 5th grade Psychoeducational Lesson PowerPoint

I suppose one of these would be COVID-19. The reality is that there is a virus out there that is novel to us. Many of us are now forced to work and learn from home. We currently aren’t able to enjoy a game at Nationals Park or attend a concert venue. Heck, we can’t even listen to a guy on a guitar play while we sip a glass of wine at a local winery. Many around us are experiencing a heightened level of stress. This year is like none other.

Sure, let’s call all the above part of a pandemic that our nation is experiencing.

According to MCPS, there is yet another pandemic. Not only does the county require schools to provide Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) to help support the well-being of our students during the COVID-19 pandemic, but also to help them “navigate” through pandemic number two.

Systemic racism.

The exact wording from a lesson plan goes as follows:

The goal is to demonstrate to students that there are two major events that are happening in the world right now.  One due to COVID-19 and the other due to social justice responses to combat systemic racism that is and has been occurring for hundreds of years.

Kids as little as pre-K are subjected to lessons with images of protests and signs saying “black lives matter” and “I can’t breathe.”

A book called The Antiracist Baby is being read to thousands of elementary school children, many parents unaware as they are busy at work. The book includes steps that the reader must take to make “equity a reality.”

Fast forward to the 3rd through 5th grade lessons, where students are exposed to the following:

Source: MCPS 3rd through 5th grade Psychoeducational Lesson PowerPoint slide

People in African American and Latinx communities have been more likely to get sick from COVID-19 because of how racism and unfairness impacts their lives.

And those are just the elementary level lessons.

Montgomery County Public Schools has been in the throes of indoctrination for years. This is infuriating as a parent and tax payer of the county. Furthermore, as someone who is required to teach it to your children, I am being asked to compromise my values to shove it down your children’s throat. My conservative values, though, will not let me.

I will not teach this garbage. I will, yet again, find peace in that my students, at least for a year, will not be subjected to such indoctrination.

At the same time, I see this as another sign that my years as a county teacher are numbered.  My hope is that this sheds more light on what our children are being exposed to. Teaching is not the career I thought it would be.

Response to Mr. Jawando: Are Antifa & BLM MoCo’s New Traffic Cops?

From A Very Concerned Citizen In Montgomery County, Maryland.

When does the emphasis on community activism end and real governing begin?

Apparently not any time soon in Montgomery County, Maryland. As long as the seats on our county council are primarily filled with community organizers and political activists, we will continue to see Montgomery County become more like Takoma Park and Berkeley, California.  Unfortunately, five of the nine council members are from either liberal Takoma Park or Silver Spring.

As liberal Democrat mayors and council members from across the nation are crying for police reform and defunding police, the liberal Montgomery County Council has also joined the narrative. Recently, the Council has declared racism a “public health emergency.” In a spin off move, liberal Council member Will Jawando, another At-Large member from Silver Spring, was tasked with leading “re-imagining policing in Montgomery County.” Jawando, whose resume describes him as an attorney, political activist, and community leader, boasts to have worked with Nancy Pelosi and Barack Obama on “civil rights” issues.

Sadly, Jawando, along with most of the other Council persons in Montgomery County, have no business or work experience. Consequently, their total focus while on the council is on community activism.

When Will Jawando joined the council as one of the At-Large Council members in 2018 he immediately began inserting his agenda into legislation. He had now found a new platform for his lifelong passion.  Jawando immediately introduced legislation for hair discrimination in the workplace; his ultimate passion was to reform the police department of Montgomery County. In an article published by dcist on August 26, Jawando tells a story of how he was arrested in the mid 2000’s while riding in a car with several law school friends. They were admittedly shouting obscenities at an undercover female police officer. Apparently, his parents did not teach him manners or respect for fellow human beings. Instead of recognizing his fault for his misconduct, he chose to process the incident as police harassment and developed a victim mentality. Sadly, this happens all too often. It’s sad when people do not accept responsibility for their actions. His concern was how this arrest would affect his future career. Today, he counts himself as a victim because of his race. He sees himself as a statistic rather than a foul-mouthed young man who got caught for his poor behavior.

Today, because of his victim mentality, Jawando is on a mission to reshape policing in Montgomery County. Along with Hans Reimer, a Marxist from California, they are proposing that police no longer make traffic stops and issue traffic citations. They would like to use the Berkeley model, utilizing the department of transportation as traffic enforcers. They are also suggesting more traffic cameras.

By Will’s own admission and his distrust of police he is suggesting we throw out the baby with the bath water. Again, it’s legislating to the lowest common denominator.

In a lengthy conversation with a Montgomery County police officer over the Labor Day weekend, he and I discussed policing in Montgomery County. He shared with me that morale on the force is at its lowest point. I asked him if he had been given stand down orders.

He acknowledged most officers are reluctant to make arrests because of fear of reprisal and lack of support from the County Executive, Marc Elrich.

He also shared that many activists purposely provoke police hoping for a negative response while they stand by with their cell phones filming the event. I asked him to tell me how the police would respond if I was a victim of black lives matter (BLM) harassment or if my business was threatened or looted or burned. He sadly responded they would most likely stand down.  He shared that the risk of losing his job or being sued or jailed for doing his job caused him to think differently on how he performed his work.

So, I ask you, Mr. Jawando:

1. How do you propose protecting the law-abiding citizens of Montgomery County who are at risk of the anarchists, rioters, and criminals?
2. Do you propose protecting the rioters over the law abiding taxpayers of Montgomery County?
3. Why do you allow your poor, disrespectful behavior as a student shape your policy-making for this county?

I suggest we need businessmen and persons with common sense to lead our county-not community organizers, civil rights activists, and attorneys who have a chip on their shoulder.

We are not Takoma Park.

Virtual Learning Series: How The School System Is Failing My Child (#2)

We are bringing awareness to the unjust and unfair treatment our nation’s children are experiencing due to state-sanctioned indoctrination and certain schools not reopening in the DC Metro Area.

Shaky, static-filled voices and constant freezing is our experience thus far.  When we can hear clearly, offerings like Anti-Racist Baby make you wish you couldn’t hear at all.  This mom is torn between wanting her children to have a normal educational experience and being terrified as to what MCPS will attempt to indoctrinate them with.

My children are bored, their teachers are frustrated, the focus is on TIME, and breaks are too frequent.  Specials, as they like to call them, are not special at all; both of my children dread going to art and music class.

Overall this is a huge let down. MCPS doesn’t have our children’s best interests in mind with the decisions they’ve made regarding opening schools and propaganda-embedded curriculum.

Virtual Learning Series: How The School System Is Failing My Child (#1)

We are bringing awareness to the unjust and unfair treatment our nation’s children are experiencing due to state-sanctioned indoctrination and certain schools not reopening in the DC Metro Area.

“We are not doing well and our mental health is in jeopardy.

My kids have melted down, yelled, and cried several times not wanting to do any work or go to their virtual classrooms because they are not able to connect with other people in a real and tangible way.

We are frustrated that we have to “color” on a computer instead of paper and do jumping jacks for gym class in front of a chrome book.

This IS NOT SUSTAINABLE. PERIOD.”

Rittmeyer: Using Mental Toughness To Handle People With Opposing Political Views

Eric Rittmeyer is a former U.S. Marine & Mental Toughness and Emotional Intelligence Expert.

There’s great danger in allowing emotions to dictate our decision making. In business it means lost sales; in politics it can translate into something much worse. Our nation is “drunk in emotion” and people’s reactions about how they respond to things are all based on their political beliefs.

It’s time we stop allowing what we FEEL in our hearts to override what we SEE with our eyes.

We’re living in a time where it’s become borderline impossible for everyone to get along with each other. Whether it’s with co-workers, family members, or our social media contacts, it’s more important than ever to understand how to accept opposing points of view. Mental Toughness is the answer.

Below is a list of some of the secrets mentally tough people use to help them handle people in any situation.

1. They don’t let their feelings get in the way

Mentally tough people understand that maintaining control of their feelings at all times is absolutely imperative (especially when dealing with a difficult person). Feelings and emotions are great, but allowing them to get the best of you when dealing with a hostile situation will spell disaster. The secret is to have a very thorough understanding of when you’re becoming emotional and to offset it with logic. Mentally tough people understand that logic and emotion are inversely related; as emotions go up, logic goes down. They have mastered their emotions and they NEVER allow their feelings to cloud their judgment.

2. They’re willing to suspend their beliefs

This is definitely easier said than done, but mentally tough people work hard to master it because they understand how powerful it is. Our nation has become incapable of accepting opposing points of view. Mentally tough people are very self-aware. They’re able to analyze their own beliefs and also the beliefs of others – even if they’re not in line with their own. Temporarily suspending their beliefs gives mentally tough people the ability to see someone’s stance with an open mind, devoid of any bias.

3. They use compartmentalization to find common ground

Compartmentalization is the ability to focus on one problem or challenge at a time, without allowing your emotions to “spill over” from one problem to another. Compartmentalizing gives mentally tough people the ability to keep their opposing views separate from other views they may actually agree on. Finding common ground on things that you agree on can be critical in a difficult situation. Without keeping your feelings under control, it can be very easy to find disagreement on things you might otherwise agree on – simply because you’re “emotionally charged.”

4. They’re professional listeners

We’ve all heard the old saying –

“There’s a reason we were given two ears and one mouth.”

Epictetus (paraphrased)

Mentally tough people are experts at one of the most underrated skills available to humans – listening. We all have an innate desire to be heard and understood. Listening is an interactive process, and showing someone you’re truly comprehending their words is critical. Mentally tough people listen with the intent to understand, not the intent to reply.

Racist Opinion: Racist Racists Are Racist

From Anonymous in Maryland.

“Racism” and “racist” are two of the most overused words in the English language.

Today the word “racist” is used to define any person, black or white, who makes a public statement that could be construed to be anything but complimentary. Loosely translated, if I disagree with you or your politics, I’m considered a racist.

Human beings are now afraid to speak for fear of being labeled a racist.

The entire civil rights movement has been corrupted by political correctness and hypersensitivity. The liberal left has exploited this label to benefit their agenda and narrative. Racism is big business; just ask Jessie Jackson, net worth $9 million and Al Sharpton, admitted net worth of $2 million. Both of these men have made a successful living exploiting racism. The black lives matter (BLM) movement, which is an admitted Marxist organization, along with Antifa, are in fact hiding places for looters and rioters. They do little to bring unity to the races. Sadly, the democratic party receives significant funding from these organizations.

One could potentially label me a racist for speaking out against these two men and organizations.

If one would ask my view on racial equality, I would begin by sharing my family history. My ancestors were in fact abolitionists and members of the underground railroad. My grandfather, several generations removed, was in fact a defendant in a year-long trial because of his involvement in harboring a fugitive slave.  He lost the case and was forced to pay punitive damages to the slave holder. This case, which took place in Philadelphia in 1823, became one of the many legal cases used to determine the right to own a slave. Later in January 1863, another grandfather of mine fought for the Union Army. He was captured at the Battle of Murphysboro, Tennessee and incarcerated at the Libby prison, a confederate prison located in Richmond, Virginia. The hardships he endured in this deplorable prison were inhumane and cruel. Mind you, he fought and suffered greatly so black men could be free and equal.

My past is deeply rooted in the advocacy of civil rights. I should not have to apologize for having white skin.

My ancestors would be saddened to learn how civil rights and equality are defined today. The term racism and racist have been cheapened to reflect political rhetoric without true meaning. Sadly, I see reverse discrimination in today’s society.

It’s politically incorrect for me to say this, but it is the elephant in the room. Why do we have a NAACP and not a NAAWP? Why do we have negro college funds and not white college funds? Why do we have Black Entertainment Network and not White Entertainment? Why do we have black history month and not white history month? Why do we have black Miss America and not White Miss America? Why aren’t professional sports teams more racially balanced? Why are 90% of the players on men’s basketball teams black? Does affirmative action only apply to black?

I just said what most white Americans think but are too afraid to say publicly for fear of being called a racist.

I had a dear neighbor who is black tell me she is fearful of police. She is fearful of being singled out because of her skin color. She has never personally been arrested or detained. Her husband and children are very successful and hold prominent positions in the government and academic world. She is very down on America even though America gave her husband and children opportunities for success. I fail to see the logic in her fear and hatred, but it is impossible to have an honest, open conversation with her when it comes to this subject.  Sadly, I believe she has bought into the leftist narrative of oppression and truly believes what she hears on the news.

The reality is her family was successful not because of their skin color, but because of hard work and determination in an America that provides this opportunity for ALL.

Opinion: Why I’m Leaving Maryland

From Anonymous In Maryland.

It wouldn’t do any good to try to wake people up; the socialists don’t care. Their goal is to destroy and redistribute wealth. The voters of this County get what they vote for. I hope to move from this County shortly, since most of my children have left already.

I realize the futility in attempting to educate those ignorant in their own subjugation. They vote for handouts and freebies with no regard for the future, and the “elected representatives” continue to pander to them with dwindling funds. They will endure a day of reckoning and at that point they will merely move on to another wealthy area. It’s easily followed as the only counties in this state losing tax payers are the sanctuary counties- same as in Virginia.

This last election told me that those leaving are the Republicans and conservatives, as the Democrats easily won their races; the voters didn’t turn up because they simply no longer lived there or were leaving prior to the election.

Maryland is the absolute worst state to retire in. If it weren’t for the first responder’s exemption, I would have already moved. I don’t view Maryland as a changeable state. It’s been corrupt for generations and not likely to change. The populous are too ignorant or lazy to realize what it is they are voting for; honestly, I was surprised when Hogan won twice.

When you consider approximately 90,000 tax payers fled Baltimore, and the “government” was willing to fill those Democrat-owned apartment buildings with illegals, you realize that it’s all about the money, and it always will be.

Personally, I don’t think Maryland is worth the effort.

Opinion: An American Massacre Is Imminent

From A Disenfranchised Voter in Montgomery County, Maryland.

This famous aphorism should be a model by which we all live:

Those who do not remember the past are condemned to repeat it.

George Santayana

Have you ever wondered why some people continue to make the same mistakes?

While in college, one of my psychology professors declared change does not take place in one’s life unless the pain of staying the same is greater than the pain of change.  In context with today’s political climate, it appears we are in danger of repeating past mistakes.

To complicate matters, monuments representing our history are being torn down and history textbooks are being censored to reflect the new Marxist dialogue. Black Lives Matter (BLM) and Antifa are working diligently to erase and change the narrative of history. The deep state is also working feverishly to spin and distort history, especially when it comes to the Democrat party’s involvement in slavery and civil rights. The truth is that the Democrat party is the party of slavery and Abraham Lincoln was a Republican who took a stand against slavery. That is one example of how those in power used a special technique to manipulate the masses.

In 1925, the German propaganda machine used a technique called the big lie.

“If you tell a big enough lie and tell it frequently enough, it will be believed.”

Adolf Hitler, Mein Kampf

The idea behind the German propaganda technique was that by using a lie so colossal, no one would believe that someone could have produced it to distort the truth so infamously. The most recent examples of this in modern times are the Russian collusion hoax and false claims perpetuating that President Trump is racist.

In 1933 Germany disarmed the Jews. This initially began in Berlin where large-scale raids took place to confiscate weapons, and later spread throughout the country. Mandatory registration of guns and firearms was required, which the Gestapo used to locate weapons owned by Jewish people. Jewish weapon owners were disarmed through warrants issued by the police. Newly released documents show how the Third Reich used gun control to disarm and repress its enemies, ultimately rendering them defenseless, which eventually led to the Holocaust.

The famous “Brownshirts” (goon squads): vandalized Jewish homes; ransacked Jewish businesses; burned Jewish synagogues; and terrorized, beat, and murdered those who resisted. Very similar tactics are being attributed to the Antifa and BLM anarchists today. The Holocaust could have been prevented if the guns owned by German Jews had not been registered or given up.

1. Do we see history repeating itself?

2. Are we so naive that we do not recognize the same techniques used by the Germans to control the Jews?

3. Why do we still believe the colossal lies of the Marxist left politicians?

Delegates at the Constitutional Convention in 1787 prepare to sign the U.S. Constitution.
credit: “Scene at the Signing of the Constitution of the United States” by artist Howard Chandler Christy.

Our forefathers recognized the importance of citizens bearing arms. Alexander Hamilton, writing in the Federalist Papers, called a well-regulated militia “the most natural defense of a free country.” The men writing the Bill of Rights wanted every citizen to be in the militia, and they wanted everyone in the militia to be armed. The text of the Second Amendment reads in full:

“A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.”

Second Amendment to the Constitution of the United States

The framers of the Bill of Rights adapted the wording of the amendment from nearly identical clauses in some of the original 13 state constitutions.

With the dissolving of police departments across America and the refusal of leftist politicians to criticize or condemn street violence, who is left to defend our great country and Constitution? Alexander Hamilton had wisdom beyond his time.

The removal of guns and disarming of law-abiding Americans will only lead to history repeating itself and a new Holocaust in America. Those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it.

How To Kill Cancel Culture

From Anonymous in Maryland.

This article will explore my theory on how cancel culture’s ultimate goal is that of a civil war in the United States, and how certain spending habits of Americans, particularly involving firearms, will help determine the outcome.

I’ve always started papers and articles with a specific quote in mind. For this particular topic, the quote comes easily:

“Force always attracts men of low morality.”

Albert Einstein

We live in an age of technological advancement that is not only rapidly advancing our quality of life, but is also rapidly deteriorating our peace of mind. As a certain three-star General once stated, “[w]e live in a digital battlefield.”

Going on Twitter and, to a lesser degree, Facebook, you can clearly see that humanity is already at war in a battle hosted by servers, where the opposition (a small but loud and dangerous army) is aided by tyrants like Zuckerberg (Facebook) and Dorsey (Twitter), who brazenly carry an unlimited supply of artillery and ammunition (e.g., angry liberals, bots, shadow banning, blacklisting, blocking, suppression algorithms, etc.).

Digital warriors consist of conservative-leaning individuals who fight against left-leaning radicals online with memes and rhetoric intentionally mischaracterized by the Left as “divisive.” Both sides are pawns in the clash of ideas and morals; where one side’s sole intent is on damaging a person’s livelihood no matter the cost, the other side is fighting a behemoth of rage and idiocy funded by billionaires with a twisted agenda.

This is cancel culture.

Where just one “errant” or unpopular opinion psychologically triggers the snowflake social justice warriors and causes an avalanche of action to destroy reputations, families, and livelihoods, causing irreparable damage to those without job protection.

This is not, in the general sense, about scaring people with job protection; it’s about scaring those who don’t have a stable platform for speaking their mind and going against mob mentality.

Cancel culture is, at first glance, an exercise of power to prevent the open debate of ideas. But I see its goal as more violently oppressive.

Journalist Jonathan Rauch recently created a “Cancel Culture Checklist” containing six warning signs explaining how to determine if you are an impending victim of cancel culture. The warning signs include: punitiveness, deplatforming, organization, secondary boycotts, moral grandstanding, and truthiness. It’s a good read for those who wish to learn more about specific actions being taken against those who refuse to adhere to the tenets set forth by the marxist mob of the Democrat party.

Below are the different phases of how cancel culture’s movement and its operatives work, based on my observations and research:

  1. Create politically progressive coalitions and other entities with innocent, feel-good sounding names;
  2. Strategize on plans of action to eliminate the “threat” of conservative thought;
  3. Initiate social media flood, accrue followers, and get people angry via emotional manipulation;
  4. Start boycotting products that “support conservative thought” and that contribute to any political campaign not endorsed by the DNC;
  5. Utilize sleeper cells in all institutions to shove the same agenda down the throat of every student, customer, and viewer to increase reach;
  6. Force defectors to apologize in order to create a feeling of shame for others who wish to do the same;
  7. Dox and “swat” famous and well-known conservatives as a tool to prevent naturally-occurring, and at this point, increasing defection;
  8. Slowly and consistently introduce radical, marxist ideas that your loyal followers must now obey in order to remain compliant and in the “popular” clique; this includes sanctioning murder of those who disagree with you;
  9. Take the agenda out in the streets when an event (staged or not, but usually with a preventable casualty) provides the perfect opportunity to further divide based on issue/label of the day;
  10. Encourage destruction of property, looting, arson;
  11. Encourage violence against people who do not look like you (aka white people) and who wear the American flag on their hat, shirt, shorts, jacket, etc.;
  12. Mobilize your army of foaming-at-the-mouth, cash-strapped anarchists and send them to the suburbs;
  13. Declare war on anyone who lives in the suburbs, no matter what their political affiliation, because they are all selfish and evil; and
  14. Stage a physical, tangible war between law abiding citizens and brainwashed, paid, and “zombified” communists of the Democrat party.

I believe we are currently, as a nation, somewhere between numbers 11/12 and 12/13 (depending where you live). Before we go into what needs to happen to get to the last two, however, let’s take a step back and talk about the types of behavior that allow cancel culture to flourish in our society.

The types of behavior that allow cancel culture to permeate in our society:
  1. Apologetic/no backbone. When someone in the public eye takes a stand on an issue and provides a counter argument to the ideas put forth by the leaders of the radical, progressive Left, they are usually pressured to issue a public apology. When the apology is made public and shared, the Left has once again controlled opposition through their cancel culture agenda. So, what happens when that person does NOT apologize? Apart from clearly becoming persona non grata, something shifts in the narrative; since the Left can no longer control the individual, they employ tactics to make sure that the resistance to their ideals does not reach many people. Since they control the news and social media (to a certain extent), this is easy to do.
  2. False sense of moral superiority. How many times have conservatives heard that we are selfish for putting our needs and our children’s needs above other’s needs? How many times have conservatives and to a lesser extent, moderate liberals, been told they need to “check their privilege”? The Left strategically brainwashes its loyal followers to believe that what they are espousing, the public shaming they are doing, is for “the greater good” of humanity. Don’t have kids! It’s bad for the environment. Don’t start learning pods! Your kids will have a higher chance to succeed later in life than others. Don’t go outside with your mask off! You can kill someone. The list is never-ending.
  3. Overly emotional. Leftist liberals are the most hyper emotional people I have ever met. They rely on their emotions to guide their decision-making skills, thereby prioritizing goals and actions that make them feel good, instead of focusing on long-term, realistic, and pragmatic solutions that will do good. Is there a middle ground? Absolutely! But not for the cancel culture mob, which brings us to #4.
  4. Refusal to compromise. Time and time again, the cancel culture mob’s devoted followers have stated that they refuse to listen to the “other side” and refuse to compromise. This means that it’s basically their way or the “highway.” No wonder they sound like they’re little children throwing a tantrum- would you teach your children to never compromise? I didn’t think so.

Will the suburbanites fight back?

At this point, I am confident that we can follow specific consumer spending trends of American citizens to find a solution/deterrent to cancel culture’s ultimate goal of instigating a civil war.

There is no doubt in my mind, and in the minds of millions of first-time gun owners, that there is a shift happening based on the number of firearm-related purchases by law-abiding citizens.

War is (almost) here, and it will only be a matter of time before suburbia starts experiencing the effects of “peaceful protests” that end in the destruction of apartment buildings, town homes, and single-family homes. These violent and aggressive mobs get organized on multiple online platforms; platforms that allow this to happen:

More than 2 million new gun owners were reported in the first half of 2020.

In case you weren’t paying attention, that is a HUGE number. You can clearly identify consumer spending habits with how safe a consumer is feeling at that time. Based on the number of gun sales alone within such a short time frame, it’s clear that personal, physical safety is being prioritized by many citizens living in the cities and suburbs.

“Gun sales have skyrocketed during the past three months, and a record-breaking 80.2 percent increase in sales was reported in May compared to last year, according to the shooting foundation. April’s data showed a 71.3 percent increase from 2019, and there was an 85.3 percent increase in March, according to information previously released by Small Arms Analytics and Forecasting.”

Fox Business News, June 4, 2020

Here’s another fun number to look at, this time from the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI):

“The spark in investor interest came after the FBI reported that there were more than 3 million background checks last month, the highest for any May on record.”

USA Today, June 3, 2020

So, what is the point of showing you this data? It’s clear that more and more people are preparing to have to defend themselves, their families, their homes, and their businesses.

Firearms are the most effective threat deterrent.

You will kill cancel culture’s main, long-term goal of destroying and wreaking havoc on suburbia when you: legally buy at least one firearm (per adult); learn how to use that firearm; and practice self-defense techniques (with a trained professional) that will help you and your family stay safe and eventually escape from immediate danger when (not if) the mob comes for your community.

P.S. Did you think that I would tell you to “fight back” with words and feelings? We are way past that stage, don’t you think?

Opinion: What’s Happening Now Is Insanity

From M.E. In Virginia.

Everyone can have their own opinion and believe what they choose to believe. It’s America. Not everyone is the same.

But I know I’m not alone in my beliefs that what is happening now is insanity.

Mask up. Don’t gather. Hide in your house. Defund the police.

They say we are the silent majority. I’m not going to be.

We get no air time.

We don’t burn things down or tear things up.

We don’t hurt others.

We go to work and support our families.

We love America!

We want to protect the unborn.

We salute the flag, always.

We sing when “The Star-Spangled Banner” plays.

We respect law enforcement, appreciate them, and obey the law.

We appreciate the military.

We are the very backbone of this country.

We believe all lives matter because that is what we learned from reading the

Bible and watching our parents.

We treat everyone with respect no matter what color their skin is.

But they want us to be invisible!

Let’s be heard! It’s time to start making some noise.

Good Ain’t Great: How The GOP Failed Me

David Wilson lives in Montgomery County, Maryland.

Most people are frustrated with, and even angry about, the two-party system. It’s even worse when you’re frustrated and angry at the party you belong to. Don’t get me wrong: I’m proud to be a conservative and a Republican (in that order). I grew up in the Democrat-dense state of West Virginia in a family of Democrats (I’ll contend that West Virginia Democrats are closer in ideology to Maryland Republicans than they are to Maryland Democrats, but that’s a discussion for another time).

From a conservative voter’s perspective, the GOP in the DC Metro area is simply…there.

As a voter, I do my own research and make my own decisions; I make the effort to vote for the person and not for the party. Now, here’s what I expect from my political party: leadership, guidance, and support. Do YOU know who the GOP leaders are in the area? Governor Hogan, whose at-times questionable leadership makes him less of a conservative than former Governor Ehrlich, doesn’t count.

If you think you’re a leader, but no one is following, you’re just out for a walk by yourself.

I spent 23 years on Active Duty with two combat deployments. Leaders establish goals and objectives and everyone down to last man/woman knows what their goals are in order to succeed. They know what their role is to make the mission a success.

From a conservative Republican candidate’s perspective, the GOP in the DC Metro area is ineffective at best. Over the past year or so, I’ve began asking a simple question to individuals and to groups where I attend meetings. I ask,

“What are the top three priorities of the Republican party?”

The responses are interesting. They’re sad, but interesting. No one knows. Sure, I hear things like “the economy” and “jobs,” but I never hear the same three priorities, EVER! That’s a leadership problem.

Republicans find it easy to laugh at and to make fun of a teenager from Sweden or a Freshman Congresswoman who is already so well-known we need only to know her initials. Yet they find it difficult to consider what caught Democrat voters’ attention and to speak to the issues half of America is concerned about. The “Green New Deal,” in my opinion, is absolutely ridiculous, but at least they have a plan.

What plans do Republicans have to tackle environmental issues? If you have to Google the answer, you’ve made my point!

Now, try being a candidate in the DC Metro area. I encourage good people to run for office. I encourage them to focus on Statesmanship, not Politics. It’s not an easy task, nor should it be. However, it should be easier than it currently is.

Leaders at the top need to:

  1. Ask the difficult questions and establish what success looks like.
  2. Set the standards for candidates.
  3. Establish a system and a process to really, truly support candidates.

The first difficult question is, “Can we win?” Leaders at the top should be constantly collecting and analyzing data to identify districts that are winnable. Again, in my opinion, we shouldn’t even run a candidate unless there’s a chance to win. Governor Hogan came close to this strategy when he established the “Drive for Five,” which was an effort to balance the Maryland General Assembly. It didn’t work, but at least it was a valid plan (sort of). Maybe it’s my military experience, but if I need five, I’m identifying 15 and putting a significant effort in to winning every single one.

What do we do in the districts if we don’t have candidates?

  1. You educate the voters.
  2. You register new Republicans.
  3. You begin to balance the odds.

It may take one, two, or three election cycles, but it must be done. This all starts by establishing specific goals. Nothing too complicated, but goals that speak to the issues of all voters. Know what affects their lives. Know it by district. Know it by county.

Why should hundreds of new candidates pay to obtain data the top leadership of the party should already know? I actually asked that question when I was a candidate. The answer, true or not, infuriated me:

“There’s too much money involved in running and supporting campaigns.”

I say all this knowing how much support the leaders in my district provided me during my campaign. In fact, after speaking with candidates from other districts, my district GOP team was quite admired for their support. We have years and years of experience in my district and lots of wonderful volunteers who dedicated hundreds, maybe thousands of hours of their personal time. And yet the result was pretty much along party lines. It wasn’t for lack of trying and it wasn’t for lack of a plan; it was a lack of registered voters who actually cast a vote for their party.

I’ll stick with my earlier comment about being better off spending time to educate and register voters, rather than putting candidates on the ballot. But a drastic move like this takes real leadership. Real leaders who can develop a strategic plan and who know what success looks like. Real leaders who can think for themselves, can cast a vision for the voters, and can excite the public by properly identifying and solving their problems.

The GOP doesn’t have to step up in the DC Metro area. They do a good job now. But good ain’t great. And to Make (or Keep) America Great Again, good ain’t good enough. Lead, follow, or get out of the way!

Response to Mr. Riemer: You Know Nothing (About Farming)

From A Farmer In Montgomery County, Maryland.

A Takoma Park Councilman’s idea of farming: solar farming? Hans Riemer, Takoma Park marxist and former Oakland, California resident is proposing a change to the Montgomery County Agriculture Reserve.

Mr. Riemer, who has absolutely no farming experience, believes solar panels are a form of agriculture and farming.

In his e-mail he compares solar panels to growing grapes and grazing sheep. I’m not sure where he is getting his information from but it is apparent that he is clueless regarding the growing of crops for consumption and the raising of animals. Perhaps he believes as AOC does, that groceries originate from the grocery store.

If he had farming knowledge, he would realize that once land is developed, including solar panels, it never reverts back to workable farm land that produces a crop.

If he had farming knowledge, he would also realize that grapes cannot be grown organically. They require regular, preventative pesticide spray; in fact, Mr. Riemer advocated and supported passing legislation that prohibited the use of pesticides in Montgomery County.

Mr. Riemer’s partnership with the liberal Sierra Club, Chesapeake Climate Action Network, and Poolesville Green are indicative of the agenda that he holds. He can be placed in the same radical category as AOC and her “Green New Deal.” Their belief that the world will end in 10 years if the carbon footprint is not reduced is driving them to radical ideas which are not in the interest of agriculture. He, along with his Takoma Park cronies Tom Hucker and Evan Glass, are pushing their liberal agenda much like the Takoma Park ban on fossil fuels. It’s inevitable what happens in Takoma Park will bleed over into Montgomery County.

Hans Riemer’s e-mail is rushing this proposal to meet a September deadline. His goal, like the bill passed in Takoma Park, is to shut down power plants forcing wind and solar power as the only source of power. You can bet the next step will be to follow the lead of Takoma Park banning combustion engines, and natural gas to meet the county’s goal of zero emissions by 2035. We saw these failed attempts during the Obama presidency and how failed energy businesses profited from taxpayer dollars.

Hans Riemer is a graduate of University of California, Santa Cruz. He has never had a job in the business world for profit but rather was (and still is) a political activist, having held positions as director of the national youth vote for Obama, political director of Rock the Vote, public policy associate, and on the 2008 Obama presidential campaign. In 2010 he was elected to an At-Large position on the Montgomery County Council. Nowhere in his biography does it suggest he has agriculture of farming experience. He currently resides in the liberal urban city of Takoma Park. I bet he has never attended the Montgomery County Agricultural Fair. One has to laugh out loud to think he can offer comments and expertise on agriculture.

The liberal left’s hysteria over climate change is not based on solid science.  Science and history show us the earth has been evolving for billions of years. Hans Riemer’s motivation is purely political, solely crafted to reducing valuable farm land.

I grew up on a farm and understand agriculture. So, I ask Mr. Riemer:

  1. How do solar panels increase our food supply?
  2. How do they benefit agriculture? It’s a far stretch to equate solar panels with farming and agriculture unless you are a Takoma Park liberal with no understanding of farming or agriculture.
  3. What financial or political gain is in this for you and your cohorts?

Tiny Homes (ADUs) Are Killing The American Dream

By Patricia Fenati Of Montgomery County, Maryland.

If you’ve ever read anything about the Russian revolution and the early days of the Soviet Union (or saw the movie Dr. Zhivago), you know that one of the consequences of the communist takeover was to require the sharing of homes by seizing individual properties and moving numerous people into those homes.

Nazi socialism did the same by taking property of those they considered enemies and giving it to others.

Agenda 21’s plan is to get you living in a “stack and pack” tiny home with no freedom.

No one is moving into my home (yet) but Montgomery County, Maryland, which is facing a housing shortage because we are a sanctuary county, has come up with a neoteric (I think off-the-wall)  solution. The County Council recently passed a proposal to provide additional housing in the county termed “Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs),” which allows additional dwelling places in virtually all residential zones.

This dictate essentially negates home zoning laws and allows homeowners to add an apartment in their home, basement, or garage or to build a small house (up to 1,200 sq. ft.) on their property, no matter what the size of the lot. It is intended to increase affordable housing in Montgomery County by encouraging smaller, more cost-accessible units as additions to individual properties.

Why does zoning matter?

According to Wikipedia, the primary purpose of zoning is to segregate land uses into divisions that are meant to be compatible. In practice, zoning is also used to prevent new development from interfering with existing uses and/or to preserve the “character” of a community. By allowing individual homes to be separated from commercial and dense housing such as apartment buildings, residents can be assured that their neighborhood homes have coherence, thus protecting the existing neighborhoods.  Zoning restrictions and standards help prevent overcrowding and protect home values. ADUs will promote overcrowding and houses built too close to each other.

Montgomery County citizens have major investments in their homes, sometimes acquired at great sacrifice. They carefully chose the neighborhoods where they live and expected that their elected representatives would assure the quality of life in those neighborhoods would remain the same. Additional dwelling units everywhere will have a significant negative impact on the quality of neighborhoods.

As residents start to add dwelling units built in back yards and convert basements and garages to additional units, the value of neighboring homes will decrease.

I predict “investors” will then purchase those lower cost homes, making separate apartments in the house and putting small rental units in back yards. This will have a serious impact on all housing developments in the county. To avoid this, the new county law requires that the owner live on the property. This sounds good, but once hundreds of these ADUs are built around the county, who is going to police this situation? A person can move away from a site and never notify the county.

“We moved to Montgomery County over 40 years ago. We relied on county zoning to regulate the size of lots and homogenize the structures in our neighborhood. We thought we were assured that new building on a neighboring property would be in harmony with the home in which we live. Now that that assurance is gone, I do not think additional homes in my neighbors’ yards are compatible with the neighborhood into which I moved.”

Patricia Fenati

What effects will these additional units have on parking? The law also loosened parking restrictions for ADUs, so that owners are only required to ensure two off-street spots. Thus, there will be additional parking on the streets.

What about water supply and sewage capacity? What if there is a septic tank? A home in a neighborhood near mine was converted into five apartments (against regulations at that time) and rented to several families. That house had a septic tank which soon was over capacity and caused raw sewage to creep to the surface. Since that was an illegal situation, it was eventually remedied. But since the county did not even police that situation, how will there be adequate oversight when small homes are going up all over the county?

“Living close to work shouldn’t be a luxury for the rich.  It’s a right for everyone.  Here’s the tough thing to talk about, though we must.  Rich people are gonna have to allow — or be forced to allow — lower income people live near them, which is what we fail to do in this country right now.”

“Beto” O’Rourke

Voters need to understand that what’s happening in Montgomery County is the forerunner of a radical Obama plan, AFFH (Affirmatively Furthering Fair Housing) and Joe Biden promises to implement AFFH nationally. But Biden is planning to go further than the Obama plan and follow Cory Booker’s plan to end single family zoning in the suburbs and create little cities everywhere.

Suburban living was initiated to afford a choice for living, away from crowded cities. People were willing to spend the time commuting to jobs in the city in order to have that option for living.

When we moved into Montgomery County those 40 years ago, it was the richest county in the country, with the best education rating in the nation (neither is true today).

When we moved here, we could not afford to live in the wealthy suburbs near Washington, D.C., but we found a home in a new development in a small town in rural farm country. We were able to get a larger home with more property than any we could have purchased with a shorter commute near the city. We have worked for many years to maintain our home, make improvements and pay on our mortgage. We were not rich, Mr. O’Rourke; we knew a move to a home in the country meant a lifetime commitment to a long commute to jobs in the city. But now we are going to be forced to allow lower income people to move into our neighborhood. Buying our home required many sacrifices, but we felt the wholesome atmosphere with fields and woods for our children to play in was worth being far from work. And our children did have many carefree hours exploring the countryside near our home (that was when children were free to roam, not always tethered to a nearby adult). Now the opportunity of open spaces will be denied to other hard working families.

Granted, there are no requirements to force others into our homes (yet) and I am not required (yet) to have additional housing on my property, but make no mistake, forcing ADUs into existing neighborhoods is a move toward socialism.
