Very little in our world is unique or original. This is true with current events. I recently read an article that accurately described the state of our political environment. I found this article quite relevant. The author who wrote this article seems to perfectly capture the current events of today. The individual who wrote this article appeared to be in deep distress over the state in which he found himself. The following is his quote.
“Wherever I look, I see destruction and violence. I am surrounded by people who love to argue and to fight. THE LAW IS NOT ENFORCED (paralyzed and useless) AND THERE IS NO JUSTICE IN THE COURTS, FOR THE WICKED FAR OUTNUMBER THE RIGHTEOUS AND JUSTICE IS PERVERTED WITH BRIBES AND TRICKERY.”
Habakkuk 1:3-4
No, this was not written by Sean Hannity, Tucker Carlson, or Dinesh D’Souza. It was in fact written by a man with a strange, unique name. His name was Habakkuk; the article was not written in the year 2020, but rather in the year 584 BC.

Habakkuk is in fact the eighth of a collection of writings by twelve minor prophets in the Hebrew Old Testament Bible. He was revered by Jews, Christians, and Muslims. The words written by Habakkuk could easily have been written in December 2020.
It seems corruption, injustice, and wickedness are not a new concept. Today, we also find ourselves in the midst of a world that is morally BANKRUPT and void of honesty, integrity, and morality.
Habakkuk argued with God and pleaded for justice, but God chose to send judgement instead of relief. Throughout this terrible dark time in history, Habakkuk chose to be faithful to God and trust in His sovereignty. Today, we should not allow ourselves to become discouraged but rather trust in a sovereign God and be assured He is in control. Throughout history God has asked us to trust him. Throughout history God has proven Himself faithful. God is still working in ways we do not understand. Even in the bleakest of situations, God is still at work. When things seem bad, He is working. When we don’t understand, He is working. When His way doesn’t make sense to us, He is still working. Take heart, God is still in control.
Do not be discouraged. Trust Him for who he is, righteous, faithful, honest, and just. History is on our side.
